If you run a POS terminal, sell airtime and data, repair phones or retail mobile accessories, you are already doing a job that people rely on every day: getting cash, staying connected, paying bills. We at Onelove Business Ventures are an accredited CAC agent, and we handle the whole registration — search, filing and certificate — for POS, telecom and mobile-services businesses anywhere in Katsina State. Send your business name on WhatsApp and we take it from there.

We register Business Names for telecom and POS businesses in Katsina State at ₦35,500 all-inclusive. That covers the CAC government filing fee and our service fee together, so there is no second bill. It suits most individual POS agents, phone shops and small data and airtime resellers, since it gives you a properly registered business without a company structure you may not need yet. (A Limited Liability Company is also available at ₦65,500 all-inclusive; the comparison table explains when it is the better fit.)
The only thing you need to bring to start is a business name — send it over WhatsApp.

Here’s Exactly What You’re Paying For
- A business name availability search
- Reservation of the name once it is available
- Completion and submission of your CAC Business Name application
- The CAC government filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration, as a soft copy
- A Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report confirming your business is active on the public register
Prefer a Limited Liability Company? For ₦65,500 all-inclusive you get everything above plus your Memorandum and Articles of Association (Memart) and personal liability protection.
Outside the Scope of This Registration
CAC registration gives your business a legal identity. POS and telecom trade involves other regulators and partners, and these are handled separately:
- A printed copy of your certificate (provided as a soft copy for you to print locally)
- Your relationship with a licensed principal, such as a bank or payment company, which is how agents are onboarded and how terminals and agent accounts are set up
- Agent training, KYC and customer-identification obligations that apply to you as an agent
- Purchase, certification and activation of POS terminals
- Nigerian Communications Commission licensing, where you offer telecom services themselves rather than reselling or retailing
- Device approval requirements for handsets and telecom equipment you sell
- Anti-money-laundering and fraud-prevention duties that apply to cash-handling businesses
- Opening a business bank account, done with your bank once the certificate is ready
- Annual returns filing in later years — a short, separate step we can also handle
Business Name vs. Limited Liability Company Cost
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Individual POS agents, phone shops and small data or airtime resellers | Multi-outlet operators, businesses managing several agents, or those with partners |
For most POS agents and phone businesses in Katsina, a Business Name is enough to operate under a recognised name and meet the registration expectation. If you manage several agents, run multiple outlets or take on partners, a company structure becomes worth considering because it separates your personal assets from the business. You can start with a Business Name and convert later.
Before You Reach Out
Most of this is probably in your phone already:
- Two business names you’d like, ranked by preference
- A valid ID — National ID (NIN), international passport or driver’s license
- A passport photograph
- Your business address in Katsina State, with the LGA — this should be the place you actually operate from
- A phone number and an email address
- A short description of the business — for example, “POS and mobile-money services” or “phone accessories and airtime sales”
- For a Limited Liability Company only: names, IDs and details of the directors and shareholders
Nothing needs to be prepared in advance. Send what you have on WhatsApp when it suits you, and we’ll match it to CAC’s requirements.
From Message to Certificate
- Check availability of your proposed name on CAC’s public portal, which we do for you.
- Reserve the name once it is confirmed available.
- Complete the application with your business and Katsina address details.
- Upload your ID and passport photograph; a phone photo is fine.
- Make one payment of ₦35,500 covering the whole package.
- Receive your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report, usually within 5–7 working days.
Everything past your details and payment is handled by us, right up to the day your certificate arrives.
In Katsina, POS Agents Fill a Gap — and Registration Is Now Expected
Much of Katsina is rural, and across the North-West, bank branches, ATMs and bank agents per adult are among the lowest in the country. That is why agent banking has been treated as a practical answer to financial exclusion in Katsina, and why the state government pushed in 2025 for the final licensing of Amana Microfinance Bank to deepen access to financial services and credit across its 34 LGAs. POS operators fill much of the gap in the meantime, often serving customers in places with no branch nearby.
The rules around that role have tightened. In June 2026, the CAC chairman said only about 20 per cent of POS operators nationwide were registered, a position he said breached both the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 and the CBN’s agent banking rules, after the Commission had set repeated deadlines, including 1 January 2026. The CBN’s revised agent banking guidelines, issued in October 2025, also require POS terminals to be geo-fenced to the agent’s registered location, with the location provisions effective from 1 April 2026. For a Katsina agent, that makes the address you register a practical matter: it should be the place you actually operate from.
Telecom and POS Businesses Across All 34 Katsina LGAs
The price, requirements and turnaround are the same wherever in Katsina State you operate. We register businesses in every LGA, including:
- Katsina — POS agents, phone shops and data resellers in the state capital
- Mai’Adua and Jibia — operators around two of the state’s busiest border markets
- Daura, Funtua and Malumfashi — agents and phone businesses in the larger towns
- Bakori, Batagarawa, Batsari, Baure, Bindawa, Charanchi, Dandume, Danja, Danmusa, Dutsi, Dutsin-Ma, Faskari, Ingawa and Kafur — POS and telecom businesses across these LGAs
- Kaita, Kankara, Kankia, Kurfi, Kusada, Mani, Mashi, Matazu, Musawa, Rimi, Sabuwa, Safana, Sandamu and Zango — agents, resellers and phone shops across the remaining LGAs
If your business is in any of Katsina’s 34 Local Government Areas, you’re covered.
Your Terminal Is Always On. Your Paperwork Shouldn’t Be an Afterthought.
A POS or phone business is a long day of small transactions: customers waiting for cash, a network that drops at the wrong moment, a failed transfer that needs explaining, float that has to be balanced before you close. Everything happens in public, so reputation builds quickly and is easy to damage.
Registration doesn’t change how the day goes. What it adds is a formal identity behind the business: a name your principal, your bank and your customers can verify, tied to an address that matches where you actually operate. Setting it up now is far easier than being caught without it when a partner or regulator asks.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a POS or telecom business in Katsina State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same in every LGA. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration, a TIN and a CAC Status Report confirming your business as active.
Is CAC registration required for a POS business? The CAC has said that POS operators are expected to register under the Companies and Allied Matters Act and the CBN’s agent banking rules, and has set repeated deadlines for it. Registering as a Business Name is the usual route for an individual agent.
Is a Business Name enough for a POS agent or phone shop? For most individual agents, phone shops and small resellers, yes. It gives you a legal trading name and meets the usual registration expectation.
Should I choose a Business Name or a Limited Liability Company? A Business Name suits most individual operators. A company is worth considering if you manage several agents, run multiple outlets or bring in partners.
When should I upgrade to a Limited Liability Company? Usually when you scale into several locations, take on partners or investors, or manage a network of agents under your name.
Can I register POS, airtime and phone accessories under one name? Yes. A single registration covers your business as a whole, so you can describe your nature of business broadly enough to include several services.
I operate from a small kiosk or shop front. Can I register? Yes. Small and large operators register the same way. Your address should be the place you actually operate from, since POS terminals are expected to work within their registered location.
Does registration make me a licensed POS agent? No. CAC registers your business. Becoming an agent involves onboarding through a licensed principal, which has its own requirements and training.
Do I need an NCC licence to sell airtime or phones? Retailing airtime, data and handsets is different from providing telecom services, which is what NCC licences cover. Check the position for your specific activity, as it is separate from CAC.
What about BVN, NIN and KYC requirements? Agents are generally required to provide identity details such as BVN and NIN during onboarding, and to follow customer-identification rules. These come from your principal and the regulator and are separate from CAC.
Will the certificate help me with a bank or a principal? Banks and payment companies typically ask for proof of registration when opening a business account or onboarding an agent, so a CAC certificate is usually among the first documents requested.
Is a TIN included, and what is it for? Yes, a Tax Identification Number is part of the package. It identifies your business for tax purposes and is often requested by banks and partner organisations.
What if I need to change my business address later? A change of address is handled through a separate filing. If you plan to move your POS location, tell us so we can advise.
Can I register more than one POS location? If you plan several locations, it’s worth discussing the best structure with us first, since a company may fit better than a Business Name for a multi-outlet operation.
Do you register businesses outside Katsina city? Yes. We register in all 34 LGAs at the same price and turnaround.
What if my preferred name isn’t available? Send a backup and we’ll check it right away. Two or three options ready in advance keeps things moving.
Can I convert my Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many operators begin with a Business Name and convert as they grow, and we can assist with the conversion.
How will I receive my certificate? As a soft copy on WhatsApp, which you can print at any local business centre.
Does registration protect me from fraud claims or chargebacks? No. A Business Name gives no personal liability protection. Handling transactions carefully and keeping good records remain your responsibility.
Does registering affect my TIN or taxes? The TIN is issued with your registration. Your tax obligations depend on how your business operates, and are separate from the registration itself.
Can I register if I work under a super-agent or aggregator? Yes. Your own registration is separate from any arrangement you have with a super-agent or principal, and those arrangements have their own terms.
What if my business only sells phones and accessories, with no POS? You can still register in the same way. POS-specific rules only apply if you operate POS terminals.
