Poultry houses, cattle and goat holdings, feed stores, agrovet shops and market-day livestock dealers all make up the animal side of farming in Niger State, and all of them do better trading under a registered name. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We run the name search, submit the filing and collect the certificate for you, wherever in the state your pens, shop or market stall is located. Send your business name on WhatsApp and consider it handled — that’s genuinely the extent of what’s asked of you.

Separate From This Registration
CAC registration gives your business its legal name. The following are handled elsewhere, and several apply directly to livestock and poultry:
- Printed copies of your certificate (we send a soft copy; print locally whenever suits you)
- Veterinary inspection and a waybill for animals you buy and transport, which Niger State’s cattle market regulations now require. Confirm the details with the state’s livestock authorities
- Permits and registrations for moving or bringing livestock into the state, where they apply to you
- Registration or approval for veterinary practice, if your agrovet shop or clinic offers veterinary services
- NAFDAC registration for processed or packaged food products you produce, such as packed eggs or processed meat
- Land documents for your farm, such as a lease, allocation or Certificate of Occupancy from the relevant land authority
- Environmental, waste and biosecurity arrangements for pens, houses and any slaughter or processing area
- State and federal tax obligations that apply to your kind of trade, including VAT where relevant
- A business bank account, opened with your chosen bank once the certificate is in hand
- Annual returns in later years, a small separate step we can handle when it falls due
Business Name or Limited Liability Company?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Small poultry farms, livestock traders and agrovet shops | Feedlots, hatcheries, processors, and ventures with co-owners or investors |
A Business Name suits a farm, flock or shop you own and run yourself, where you need a legal name for invoices, feed suppliers and a bank account. A Limited Liability Company is worth considering once you run a feedlot or hatchery, supply processors or abattoirs, share ownership, or deal with lenders who want a company structure, because the business then stands apart from your personal assets. Starting with a Business Name and upgrading later is a common path.

Six steps, and only two of them involve you — everything else runs on our end.
Livestock Rules, Reserves and Big Orders Are Changing Niger State’s Animal Trade
Niger State has been reshaping how animals are bought, moved and raised. In July 2026 the state’s livestock authorities set out new cattle market regulations, and the Niger State Police Command pledged to help enforce them. Under the new measures, every animal purchased for transport must travel with a waybill issued after a veterinary inspection, to improve traceability, security and public health. Separately, the state’s Commissioner for Livestock and Fisheries said Niger has 23 designated grazing reserves, nine of them gazetted, with the rest being worked through.
In early October 2026, the federal Minister of Livestock Development visited Minna. The visit highlighted a reported arrangement, brokered under the L-PRES programme, for Niger Foods to supply about 200 cattle a day to an Abuja abattoir, with feedlots as part of the plan. The minister also pointed to Zaima Farms, which has a poultry processing facility able to handle about 10,000 chickens a day.
We are not saying any of this will win you a contract, and the arrangements above are the government’s and its partners’, not ours. What the developments show is a state where buyers, processors and officials increasingly want animals, sellers and paperwork to be traceable, and a registered business name is a basic part of looking traceable.
Where in Niger State We Register Livestock and Poultry Businesses
Price, requirements and turnaround are identical wherever your pens, shop or market stall is located. Every area below is covered.
Minna and the capital region
- Minna, Chanchaga, Bosso, Paikoro and Gurara — poultry farms, agrovet shops and feed sellers serving the capital
Towards Abuja
- Suleja, Tafa, Shiroro, Munya, Kuta and Ukata — livestock and poultry businesses on the Abuja side of the state
Kontagora and the north-west
- Kontagora, Mariga, Magama, Ibeto, Rijau, Kusheriki, Mashegu, Wushishi, Zungeru, Tegina and Rafi — herd owners, traders and feed suppliers across the northern towns
Bida and the river towns
- Bida, Badeggi, Baro, Katcha, Lavun, Gbako, Agaie, Lapai, Edati and Mokwa — farms and dealers along the Niger valley
Borgu and the west
- Borgu, Agwara, Wawa, New Shagunnu, Babana and Konkwesso — the western edge of the state
Other communities
- Auna, Bokani and Duku — livestock keepers and traders elsewhere in the state
If your business is anywhere in Niger State, we can register it.
Before Sunrise and After the Last Delivery
Animal farming has no quiet hours. Feeding starts before sunrise, eggs have to be collected and graded, a vaccination date can’t slip, and a delivery of day-old chicks or a truck of feed arrives whether or not you are ready. At the market, a deal can close in minutes and you may be on the road the same afternoon. In a day like that, a government portal is the last thing you want to open. Passing the registration to us means your farm, shop or livestock business gets a registered name for receipts, supplier accounts and bank paperwork, while you stay with the animals.
You’ll Probably Like Working With Us If…
We’re not the right fit for everyone, and we’d rather say so — here’s who usually benefits most from working with us:
- You’d rather not leave a flock unfed, a delivery of chicks waiting or a market-day sale half-finished just to work through CAC’s portal — you want the filing done while the farm keeps running.
- You’re planning to grow from a few pens to supplying egg distributors, processors, abattoirs or feedlots, or to add a hatchery, feed store or agrovet shop — and want a registered name behind that.
- You want a recommendation that fits your size — not the biggest package by default.
- You want things kept simple — your details, one payment, your certificate.
If this describes you, we’d be glad to take the paperwork off your hands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a poultry farm or livestock business in Niger State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, wherever in the state you are. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What comes with the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for a poultry farm or agrovet shop, and when should I choose a company instead? For most owner-run farms, flocks and shops, a Business Name is enough. Consider a Limited Liability Company if you run a feedlot or hatchery, supply processors or abattoirs, share ownership with partners, or a lender or investor wants a company structure.
Can poultry, livestock trading and feed sales go under one name? Yes. Describe the nature of business broadly, for example poultry farming, livestock trading and feed supply. One registered name can cover all of them.
Does CAC registration replace the veterinary inspection and waybill for moving livestock? No. Those come from the state’s livestock authorities under their own rules and have nothing to do with the CAC filing. Check the current requirements for any animals you buy or transport.
Do I need NAFDAC or veterinary registration for an agrovet shop or processed products? Those are separate from CAC. Processed or packaged food products generally need NAFDAC attention, and services that count as veterinary practice may need their own approval. Check what applies to your activity.
Will abattoirs, processors and large buyers ask for a CAC certificate? Larger buyers often want proof of registration and traceable paperwork before dealing in volume, so the certificate is a useful document to hold. It does not guarantee any order.
Can I open a bank account with the certificate, and is the TIN included? Yes to both. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, and a Tax Identification Number comes with the ₦35,500.
Do you register businesses outside Minna? Yes. We cover Niger State from Suleja and Bida to Kontagora and Borgu, at the same price and turnaround.
My farm is far from town. What address do I use? The application needs a business address in Niger State with its LGA. Send the address you plan to use, such as your home or the place you operate from, and we’ll confirm it works.
What if the name I want is already taken? Send a backup and we’ll check it straight away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Are there annual filings with CAC, and can I upgrade later? Registered businesses file annual returns, a small separate step we can help with. You can also move from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company when the business grows, and we can assist with the conversion.
