A flex banner for a shop opening in Iwo, a social media campaign for a school in Ilesa, a billboard on the Osogbo road, a press statement for a church or a company: public relations and advertising work in Osun runs on briefs, deadlines and clients who want to know exactly who they are paying. A registered business name gives your agency, consultancy or print-and-branding shop something official to put on every quotation. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for you, wherever in Osun State you work, so your time goes into ideas and clients, not forms. Open WhatsApp, type your business name and send; that single step hands the registration to us.

Osun’s Outdoor Advertising Rules and Why the Name Comes First
Osun has had its own regulator for outdoor advertising: the Osun State Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement Agency, known as O’Signage. When it began enforcing the state’s signage law, as reported in 2017, its chief executive said that any individual, company, religious body or political party using public space for adverts needed the agency’s authorisation. She said signage dues depend on size, location and the industry concerned, and that payments should go directly to government bank accounts and not to agency staff. The agency also said it could remove unauthorised billboards and signposts. Enforcement of this kind is active across the region too: in neighbouring Oyo State, the state signage agency recently took action against more than 18 non-compliant billboard structures ahead of the 2027 general election. Because those reports are older, confirm the agency’s current name, fees and procedures with the state before you erect anything.
Every outdoor job, from a shop sign to a billboard, therefore involves a client, an approval and a payment trail, and all three go more smoothly when the business behind the job has a registered name. CAC registration is separate from outdoor permits and from the professional bodies listed below. So the sensible order is to register the business name first, then take up the approvals your work needs.
Who We Register: Advertising and Public Relations Businesses
- Advertising and creative agencies: campaigns, concepts, copywriting and design for local and regional clients.
- Public relations and communications consultants: press releases, media relations, reputation work and event publicity.
- Outdoor advertising firms: billboards, signboards, wall branding and vehicle branding.
- Digital marketing and social media agencies: content, paid ads, page management and online campaigns.
- Branding and promotional-materials businesses: flex banners, uniforms, calendars, souvenirs and printed collateral.
- Brand activation and sales-promotion teams: field teams running product sampling and promotional drives.
- Media planning and buying outfits: businesses that plan and book radio, print, outdoor and online slots for clients.
What This Registration Doesn’t Cover
A CAC certificate gives your business a legal name. The following are handled separately:
- Registration with the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), and its vetting requirements for adverts, where they apply to your work
- Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for public relations practitioners
- Permits, approvals and dues from the state signage agency for billboards, signboards, banners and other outdoor adverts
- Rules for broadcast and political advertising, including the codes that apply to adverts on radio and television
- Copyright permissions for music, images, fonts and footage used in your campaigns, which fall under the Nigerian Copyright Commission and its approved collective management organisations
- Data protection obligations if your campaigns collect personal data from customers or the public
- Contracts, retainers and usage terms with clients, printers, media owners and freelancers
- Tax obligations beyond the TIN, such as VAT and income tax filings once you start trading
- Printed copies of your certificate, which you arrange locally
- Opening your business bank account, done with your bank once the certificate arrives
- Annual returns in later years, a small separate task we can also handle for you
Breaking Down the ₦35,500
Your ₦35,500 is one payment. CAC’s filing fee and our service fee are both inside it, so nothing is added later. A Limited Liability Company is also available at ₦65,500, all-inclusive.
- A check that your chosen business name is available
- Reservation of that name
- Preparation and submission of your CAC Business Name application
- The CAC government filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration, as a soft copy
- Your Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report showing your business as active on the public register
Business Name or Limited Liability Company for an Agency or PR Business?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Business separate from you | No | Yes |
| What you receive | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Usually suits | Freelance consultants, small agencies, digital marketers and print shops | Agencies with partners, owners of billboard structures, corporate-facing firms |
For a consultant, a freelance designer or a small agency working with local clients, a Business Name normally covers what you need: a name for quotations and invoices, and a business bank account. A Limited Liability Company starts to make sense when you add partners, own billboard structures or other assets, pitch for large corporate or institutional accounts, or bring in an investor, because the business then stands apart from your personal assets. Many agencies begin with a Business Name and convert later.

- A plain description of the business, for example “advertising and public relations” or “digital marketing and branding”
- For a company only: names, ID and details of each director and shareholder

Between the Brief and the Billboard
Advertising and PR work never sits still. A client’s brief changes after the first draft, a printer’s proof needs sign-off before the deadline, and a campaign is due to go live on Monday morning. Between pitching, revisions, approvals and chasing the last payment, there is little time left for a government website. Registering your business name is a job we can take off you completely, so your agency already has a recognised name for quotations, contracts and the bank account when the next client asks who they are hiring.
What Our Best-Matched Clients Have in Common
Rather than promise the earth, here’s a plain description of who gets the most from working with us:
- You’d rather not wrestle with CAC’s portal between a client brief, a printer’s proof waiting for sign-off and a campaign going live on Monday — you want the paperwork done while the work moves on.
- You’re aiming past single jobs for local shops — towards monthly retainers with companies, schools and institutions, or running billboard sites of your own — and you want a registered name to grow under.
- You like a straightforward recommendation — if a Business Name serves your agency at this stage, we won’t push the company package.
- You want the full price on the table first — ₦35,500, one payment, nothing hiding behind it.
If that’s your style, send us the business name and we’ll start the filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for an advertising or PR business in Osun State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same in every Osun town. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC application, the government filing fee, your Certificate of Registration as a soft copy, a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for an advertising agency or PR consultancy? For most owner-run agencies, consultancies and print-and-branding shops, yes. It gives you a legal name for quotations, invoices and a bank account. Professional registrations are separate.
Is CAC registration the same as APCON registration? No. APCON is the professional regulator for advertising practitioners and handles its own registration and advert vetting. CAC registration gives you the registered business name to apply under.
Does registering the business make me a member of a PR body? No. Membership of a professional body such as NIPR is separate from CAC registration.
I put up billboards and banners. Which approvals do I need? Outdoor adverts involve permits and dues from the state signage agency. Check the current requirements with the agency before you erect anything. This is separate from CAC.
I’m a freelance designer or social media manager. Can I register? Yes. A one-person business is registered the same way as a larger agency.
Can I register advertising and public relations under one name? Yes. Describe the nature of business broadly, for example “advertising, public relations and branding”.
I run a digital agency and work online. Do I still need an Osun address? Yes. The application needs a business address and LGA in Osun State, even if your clients are online.
Will the certificate help me pitch to companies and institutions? Companies and organisations often ask for proof of registration before awarding work, so the certificate is a useful document to have. It does not guarantee any contract.
I run a print and branding shop. Do I register the same way? Yes. Describe your products and services in the nature of business.
When does a Limited Liability Company make more sense? If you have partners, own billboard structures, pitch for large corporate accounts or have an investor who wants a company structure, the company route is worth considering from the start.
Do data protection rules apply to my campaigns? They can, if you collect personal data from customers or the public. Those obligations are separate from CAC registration, so check what applies to your campaigns.
Do I need permission to use music or images in adverts? Usually yes. Copyright is handled through the Nigerian Copyright Commission and the owners of the work. It is not part of CAC registration.
Do you register businesses outside Osogbo and Ile-Ife? Yes. We register advertising and PR businesses across all of Osun State, from Ila Orangun and Ikirun to Iwo, Ilesa and Ikire, at the same price and turnaround.
I don’t have an office yet. Can I still register? The application needs a business address in Osun State and its LGA. If you are still setting up, send the address you plan to use.
Is the TIN included? Yes. Your Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
What if my chosen name isn’t available? Send a second option and we will check it straight away. Two or three ready names keep things moving.
Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses must file annual returns. It is a small separate step, and we can help when it is due.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many agencies start with a Business Name and convert as they grow or take on partners. We can assist with the conversion.
Does registering the name protect my agency’s brand and logo? CAC will not register an identical name for another business. Protecting a brand or logo is a separate matter handled through the Trademarks Registry.
My partners and I run the agency together. Can we register? Tell us who the owners are. Shared ownership is a common reason to consider a Limited Liability Company, and we’ll tell you honestly which structure fits.
Do I register again for each client or campaign? No. One CAC registration covers your business as a whole. Approvals for particular campaigns or outdoor sites are handled separately.
