Whether it is bottled fruit juice, zobo, kunu, table water or a fresh-blended cup at a roadside stall, every drink sold under a brand begins with a business that has a name. In Oyo State, putting that name on a registered footing is a sensible early step, well before the bottles reach shops and distributors. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for beverage and juice businesses anywhere in Oyo State, so your time stays with your fruit, your recipes and your customers. Getting started takes a single WhatsApp message containing your business name, and the remaining work is ours to do.

What Your ₦35,500 Covers
You make one payment, and it combines CAC’s filing fee with our service fee. If you would rather begin as a company, a Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.
- A search to confirm your preferred business name is available on CAC’s register
- Reservation of the name once it clears
- Preparation and submission of your CAC Business Name application
- The CAC government filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration (soft copy)
- Your Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report showing your business as active on the public register
What Falls Outside This Registration
- Printed copies of your certificate. You receive a soft copy on WhatsApp and print it locally when you need it.
- NAFDAC registration of your products. Each packaged drink you sell needs its own NAFDAC registration, and NAFDAC’s inspection, laboratory checks and timelines are separate from ours.
- NAFDAC inspection of your production premises. NAFDAC’s checks on hygiene, packaging practices and equipment are handled directly with the agency.
- Standards requirements. Some products may fall under Standards Organisation of Nigeria rules, which you should confirm for your product line.
- Trademark registration for your brand name. A CAC business name and a trademark are different things, and the trademark is applied for separately.
- Label and packaging compliance, including ingredient, production and expiry information on your labels.
- Premises and equipment approvals. A factory site, fumigation, water testing and any local government permits are arranged separately.
- Food-handler and health requirements for staff who prepare or bottle drinks.
- Environmental handling of wastewater, fruit waste and used packaging, dealt with through the state environmental authorities and, where it applies, NESREA.
- Trade association dues or membership, which are optional and separate.
- State and federal tax obligations for your business, beyond the TIN issued with your certificate.
- Opening a business bank account, done with your chosen bank once the certificate is in hand.
- Annual returns in later years. A small, separate step that we can help with.
Business Name vs. Limited Liability Company
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Small-scale producers, juice bars, and drinks resellers working locally | Bottling plants, producers building a branded range for NAFDAC registration, and distributors with partners or investors |
A Business Name suits a juice bar, a small producer or a reseller who sells locally and owns the business alone. For producers heading towards NAFDAC registration there is one thing to check before you choose. Several published guides to NAFDAC’s food registration list a certificate of incorporation, which is a company document, while at least one lists incorporation or business registration. We would rather you confirm with NAFDAC which it accepts for your product than guess. Whichever you need, we can register either one, and a Business Name can be converted to a company later.
Oyo State’s Drinks Trade and the NAFDAC Question
Ibadan is not new to large-scale drinks production. Seven-Up Bottling Company built a factory there after its earlier plants at Ijora and Oregun in Lagos.
For smaller producers, the question is not only registration with CAC. In an enforcement case reported from Ibadan, NAFDAC sealed a juice factory for producing without a NAFDAC registration number. NAFDAC’s South-West director said the company had applied but had not completed the registration, and that it lacked the equipment needed to package and produce juice. She urged the public to stop buying products with no NAFDAC number.
That case shows how the two registrations fit together. CAC registration gives your business its legal name and is typically a prerequisite in NAFDAC’s application, with reports listing proof of CAC registration among the required documents. It does not give you a NAFDAC number, and it does not let you sell a packaged product without one. Plan for both, in that order, and confirm the current NAFDAC requirements for your type of drink with the agency directly.
Every Bottle Carries a Name
Anyone who makes drinks for sale knows how long the day is. The fruit comes early from the market. There is washing, blending or brewing, straining, cooling and bottling, then ice and cold storage that depends on the power staying on, then labels, crates and a delivery run to shops, schools and events. All the while the product has to taste the same every time. A filing portal does not fit into that routine. Registration is a job you can hand to someone else completely. When it is finished, your drinks business has a registered name to put on your invoices, supplier accounts, delivery notes and, in time, your labels.

Who This Service Suits Best
Here’s a plain description of the kind of drinks business that tends to get the most from working with us:
- You’re up early at the fruit market and bottling by mid-morning, and you’d rather not learn CAC’s portal between a batch on the stove and a delivery run — you want the filing finished while production carries on.
- You’re planning to move from roadside stalls, school gates and events to supplying supermarkets, shops and distributors — or to getting a product ready for NAFDAC registration — and you want a registered name behind your brand.
- You want a recommendation that fits your size — not the biggest package by default.
- You’d rather not chase anyone — one message starts it, and the price you’re quoted is the price you pay.
If this describes you, send your business name and we’ll get started.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a beverage or juice business in Oyo State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same wherever in Oyo State your business is. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for a juice or drinks business? For most small producers, juice bars and resellers, yes. It gives you a legal name to trade under. If you plan to register packaged products with NAFDAC, check which type of CAC certificate the agency expects.
Does CAC registration give me a NAFDAC number? No. NAFDAC registration is a separate process for each product, with its own inspection and laboratory checks. CAC registration gives you the registered business that applies.
Do I need CAC registration before I apply to NAFDAC? Published guides to NAFDAC’s food registration list proof of CAC registration among the documents. Confirm the current requirements with NAFDAC for your type of product.
Should I choose a Business Name or a Limited Liability Company for NAFDAC purposes? Several guides list a certificate of incorporation, while at least one lists incorporation or business registration. Check with NAFDAC which it accepts for your product. We can register either, and we can convert a Business Name to a company later.
I make zobo or kunu at home and sell it in bottles. Can I register? Yes. You need an address and LGA for the application, which can be your home or your production site. Whether your product needs NAFDAC registration depends on how you package and sell it, so check with the agency.
Can I register juice and other drinks under one business name? Yes. Describe the nature of business broadly, for example “production and sale of fruit juice and beverages”.
Does the same registration cover table water production? Yes. A table water business can be registered the same way. Approvals for water production are separate.
Can I register a juice bar or smoothie shop? Yes. Health and food-handling approvals for the premises are separate.
Can I register a drinks wholesale or distribution business? Yes. A Business Name suits a smaller distributor, and a Limited Liability Company is worth considering for a large one.
Does CAC registration protect my brand name? No. A CAC business name and a trademark are different things. The trademark for your brand is applied for separately.
What address do I give if I produce from home? Give the address where the business operates, with the LGA, whether that is your home, a rented unit or a production site.
Will a certificate help me supply supermarkets, schools or event caterers? Buyers often ask a supplier for proof of registration. The certificate helps with that request, but it does not guarantee any order. Packaged products usually also need NAFDAC registration.
Can I put my registered name on my product labels? Once registered, you can use your business name on labels, invoices and packaging. NAFDAC’s labelling rules apply separately.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
Do I need to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses have annual returns to file. It is a small, separate step that we can help with when it falls due.
What if my first choice of name is taken? Send a backup name and we will check it straight away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many drinks businesses start with a Business Name and convert as they grow or bring in partners. We can assist with the conversion.
When does it make sense to start as a Limited Liability Company? If you are building a bottling plant, sharing ownership with partners, taking in an investor, or NAFDAC or a large buyer expects a company, the company route is worth considering from the start.
Do you register drinks businesses outside Ibadan, such as in Ogbomosho, Saki or Iseyin? Yes. We register beverage and juice businesses across all of Oyo State, at the same price and turnaround.
