Bridal makeup before sunrise, a bead necklace made to match an asoebi, a skincare range sold from a shop in Ilesa or a studio in Ile-Ife: beauty and jewelry businesses in Osun State are built on personal taste and repeat customers. Putting that business under a registered name is a sensible first piece of paperwork, and it helps clients, suppliers and banks take it seriously. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. Whether you make jewelry, sell cosmetics or work as a makeup artist, we handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for you, from wherever you trade in Osun State. Send your business name on WhatsApp and consider it handled — that’s genuinely the extent of what’s asked of you.

What Your ₦35,500 Covers
Your ₦35,500 is a single payment for a beauty or jewelry business in Osun State. CAC’s filing fee and our service fee are both included, so nothing is added afterwards. If you would rather start as a company, a Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.
- Checking that your chosen business name is available
- Reserving the name
- Completing and submitting your CAC Business Name application
- CAC’s government filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration, as a soft copy
- A Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report showing your business as active on the public register
What Falls Outside This Registration
- Printed copies of your certificate. You receive a soft copy to print locally.
- NAFDAC registration for cosmetics, skincare or personal-care products that you make, import or sell under your own brand, along with any premises requirements NAFDAC sets. CAC registration does not replace product registration.
- Rules that may apply to dealing in gold, silver or gemstones, which are handled by the relevant minerals and mining authorities rather than by CAC.
- Import paperwork, such as Nigeria Customs Service duties and Form M through your bank, if you bring in cosmetics, beads, wigs or jewelry from abroad.
- Trademark protection for your brand name or logo, through the Trademarks Registry.
- Protection for original jewelry or product designs, through the registry that handles industrial designs.
- Shop, stall and signage permits or levies from the local government or market association where you trade.
- State and federal tax obligations, including those handled by the Osun State Internal Revenue Service on the state side.
- Staff-related contributions such as pension and employee compensation, which may apply once you have paid workers.
- Opening a business bank account, which you do with your chosen bank after receiving the certificate.
- Annual returns in later years, a small, separate step we can also help with when it falls due.
Business Name vs. Limited Liability Company
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Individual makeup artists, jewelry makers and small beauty shops | Brands making their own products for distribution, or businesses with partners or investors |
A Business Name suits an owner-run studio, stall or shop that needs a legal name for bookings, invoices, supplier accounts and a bank account. A Limited Liability Company is worth considering if you are building a product brand for wider distribution, sharing ownership with partners or bringing in investors, because the business then stands apart from your personal assets. We’ll tell you plainly which one fits where you are now, and starting with a Business Name and upgrading later is common.
Documents to Have Ready
- Two business names you like, with your first choice listed first
- A valid ID: National ID (NIN), international passport, or driver’s license
- One passport photograph
- Your business address in Osun State, with the LGA named
- A phone number and email address
- A short description of what you do, such as “cosmetics and beauty products retail,” “jewelry design and sales” or “makeup artistry and beauty services”
- If you choose a Limited Liability Company: names, ID and details of each director and shareholder
The Registration Timeline
- We check name availability on CAC’s public search portal.
- We reserve the name as soon as it is confirmed available.
- We complete the application with your business details and Osun State address.
- You upload your ID and passport photograph. A clear phone photo is enough.
- You pay the ₦35,500 filing fee, one payment that covers everything above.
- Your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report arrive, usually within 5–7 working days.
That’s the full extent of it on your part: send the details, make one payment, receive your certificate.
Cosmetics Enforcement Has Reached Osun’s Markets
Anyone selling cosmetics in Osun should know that product regulation is not a distant matter. In April 2016, NAFDAC operatives sealed pharmacies in Osogbo and Ilesa after confiscating unregistered drugs. In the same operation, they raided Orisunbare market in the middle of Osogbo, where some shops were sealed for selling unregistered and expired products, including wines and cosmetics.
Nationally, the push has continued. A National Cosmetics Safety Policy, approved by the National Council on Health in November 2025, is due to run from 2026 to 2030. A NAFDAC official said in January 2026 that enforcement had started, covering both imported and locally made products.
CAC registration deals with something different. It does not register your products, approve your formulas or clear your stock. What it does is give your business a registered name, which is the name you put on supplier invoices, product orders and bank accounts. If you make or import products, NAFDAC registration is a separate process you will need to handle yourself, and selling unregistered goods carries real risk.
Registering Beauty and Jewelry Businesses Across Osun’s Towns
Price, requirements and turnaround stay the same wherever your shop, studio or stall is located. These are the areas we serve.

If your business operates anywhere in Osun State, we can register it.
Beauty Runs on Bookings and Shelf Space
In this trade, appearances are the product. A bridal party needs to be ready by dawn, a trial session overruns, a client wants a foundation shade matched in daylight, and a display case needs restocking before the weekend rush. Between photo uploads, supplier calls and message replies, little time is left for an online portal. Registering the business name is a job you can hand over completely. Afterwards, your brand has a registered name to put on invoices, supplier orders, booking forms and bank paperwork, and you can get back to the mirror, the counter or the workbench.
Is This Right for Your Business?
Before you decide, here’s an honest look at who gets the most from our service:
- You’d rather not work out CAC’s portal between a bridal trial, a customer matching a foundation shade and a shelf that needs restocking before the weekend. You want the registration finished while bookings keep coming.
- You’re thinking about growing, perhaps from a home studio or a market stall to a shop, supplying salons and resellers, or launching a product line of your own.
- You want honest advice, not an upsell. If a Business Name covers your stage, that’s what we’ll recommend.
- You want one message to actually mean one message: no chasing documents back and forth, and no surprise extra fees once you’ve paid.
If that’s the kind of service you want, message us and we’ll begin.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a cosmetics or jewelry business in Osun State? A Business Name costs ₦35,500 all-inclusive, whichever town you operate in. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? We search and reserve your name, complete and file the application, and cover CAC’s government fee. You receive your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for a makeup artist who works alone? Usually, yes. A freelance or studio-based makeup artist can register a Business Name to get a legal name for bookings, invoices and a bank account.
Does CAC registration cover NAFDAC approval for products I sell? No. NAFDAC registers and regulates cosmetics separately. Registering your business name does not make the products you stock or make NAFDAC-registered.
I make my own soaps, creams or oils. What do I need beyond CAC? You’ll need to look at NAFDAC’s requirements for your products and premises, which are separate from this registration. If you are building a brand for wider distribution, we’ll also advise whether a Limited Liability Company would suit you better.
Can I register a business that sells imported cosmetics or wigs? Yes. The registration covers the business name. Import duties, Form M and any product approvals are handled separately.
Do I need a special licence to sell gold, silver or gemstone jewelry? Dealing in precious metals or gemstones can involve rules from the minerals and mining authorities, and these are separate from CAC. Check with the relevant authority before you begin trading in those materials.
I work from a home studio. Which address should I use? Use the address your business operates from, and tell us its LGA. If you are about to move into a shop, send the address you expect to use.
Can I put jewelry, cosmetics and makeup services under one name? Yes. Describe the activities broadly, for example “jewelry, cosmetics and beauty services,” so the registration reflects everything you do.
Will a CAC certificate help me supply salons, boutiques or resellers? Many distributors, salons and retailers like to see proof of registration before placing larger or repeat orders. The certificate is a useful document, though it doesn’t guarantee any order.
Does registering my business name protect my brand or logo? No. A registered business name is not a trademark. Trademark protection is a separate application through the Trademarks Registry.
Can I protect an original jewelry design? Design protection is handled through a separate registry, not CAC. If you create distinctive pieces and want to protect them, look into industrial design registration.
I sell mainly on Instagram and WhatsApp. Can I still register? Yes. You still need an Osun State address and LGA for the application, even if most of your customers find you online.
Can I register more than one shop or stall under the same name? One registration covers your business as a whole. Give us the main address for the application, and check any local requirements for each additional outlet.
When should I choose a Limited Liability Company instead? Consider it if you are making your own product line for wider distribution, sharing ownership with partners or bringing in investors. For a studio, stall or small shop run by one owner, a Business Name is generally enough.
Does the price change between Osogbo, Ile-Ife, Ilesa and other towns? No. The cost and the 5–7 working day turnaround are the same across Osun State.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. Banks typically ask for the certificate along with your ID and other account details.
Is the TIN included in the ₦35,500? Yes. The Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive.
What if my brand name is already taken? Send a backup name and we’ll check it straight away. Beauty and jewelry names are popular, so having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Yes. Registered businesses file annual returns. It’s a small, separate step, and we can help when it’s due.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many beauty and jewelry businesses start with a Business Name and convert when the brand grows or partners join. We can help with the conversion.
Can I register a salon or spa under the same name? Yes, you can describe those services in your nature of business. Any approvals specific to running a salon or spa are handled separately.
Can two makeup artists or jewelry makers register a business together? Yes. For shared ownership, the Limited Liability Company route often fits better, and we can walk you through the director and shareholder details.
