Weddings in Osogbo, naming ceremonies in Ilesa, product launches in Ile-Ife, seminars in Ede and church or community programmes in towns across the state: Osun’s event calendar rarely has an empty weekend. If you plan, organise or supply any of it, trading under a registered business name is a sensible first piece of paperwork. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for you, wherever in Osun State you work, so your time goes into guest lists, vendors and show-day logistics.

- MCs, ushers, protocol officers and event staffing outfits: people and teams hired to run events on the day.
Osun’s Event Calendar: Olojo, Sponsors and the Case for a Registered Name
Ile-Ife’s Olojo Festival shows how much event work can build around one cultural occasion. The 2026 public events ran from 24 to 28 September, and the published programme went well beyond ceremony. It included the Ayo Olopon traditional game competition, a Cultural Talent Hunt with auditions and a grand finale at the Ooni’s palace on 28 September, and an Ife 5KM Road Race that carried a cash prize. At the 2025 festival launch, the Ooni called for development partnerships from corporate organisations, and sponsors including Adron Homes, MTN Nigeria and Seaman Schnapps were present.
Races, talent shows, sponsor presences and hospitality all depend on quotations, deposits, contracts and invoices, and clients and sponsors usually want to know exactly which business they are paying. A registered name answers that question. It is a separate step from the permits that public events can need, such as approvals for gatherings and road use, which are listed further down. So the practical order is: register the business name first, then handle the approvals each event requires.

Business Name or Limited Liability Company for an Events Business?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | β¦35,500 | β¦65,500 |
| Business separate from you | No | Yes |
| What you receive | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Usually suits | Solo planners, MCs, small rental suppliers and owner-run event teams | Event centres, conference organisers with partners, corporate-facing companies |
For a planner or supplier working mostly on personal and community events, a Business Name normally covers what you need: a name for quotes and invoices, and a business bank account. A Limited Liability Company becomes worth the extra cost when you own a venue, share ownership with partners, handle large corporate budgets, or have investors who want a company structure. Plenty of event businesses begin with a Business Name and convert later.
What’s Included in the β¦35,500
Your β¦35,500 is one payment. CAC’s filing fee and our service fee are both inside it, so nothing is added afterwards. A Limited Liability Company is also available at β¦65,500, all-inclusive.
- A check that your chosen business name is available
- Reservation of that name
- Preparation and submission of your CAC Business Name application
- The CAC government filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration, as a soft copy
- Your Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report showing your business as active on the public register
What’s Not Usually Included
A CAC certificate gives your business a legal name. The following sit with other bodies or with you, and are handled separately:
- Approvals for public gatherings, road use and large events, which can involve the local government and the police
- Liquor licences, if your events serve alcohol, and food-handling and hygiene requirements for any catering
- Copyright permissions for music and content used at your events, which fall under the Nigerian Copyright Commission and its approved collective management organisations
- Building, occupancy and fire-safety approvals if you own or run an event centre, plus any state hospitality or tourism registration that applies to your type of venue
- Permits for banners, billboards and outdoor advertising used to promote your events
- Event and public-liability insurance for the occasions you run
- The contracts you sign with clients, venues, vendors and performers, and the deposits and refunds written into them
- Tax obligations beyond the TIN, such as VAT and income tax filings once you start trading
- Printed copies of your certificate, which you arrange locally
- Opening your business bank account, done with your bank once the certificate arrives
- Annual returns in later years, a small separate task we can also handle for you
Requirements for CAC Registration in Osun State
- Two proposed business names, ranked with your favourite first
- A valid ID: National ID (NIN), international passport or driver’s license
- A passport photograph: a phone photo is fine
- Your business address in Osun State, with the LGA
- A phone number and email address you check regularly
- Nature of business, described simply, for example “event planning and management” or “conference organising and event rentals”
- If you choose a Limited Liability Company: names, ID and details of each director and shareholder
Step-by-Step: How Little This Actually Takes
- Check the name: we search CAC’s public portal to confirm it is free.
- Reserve it: we hold the name once it is confirmed.
- Complete the application: we fill it in with your business, owner and Osun address details.
- Send your ID and photo: you share them and we upload them.
- Pay once: you make the single β¦35,500 payment covering everything above.
- Receive your certificate: your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report arrive, usually within 5β7 working days.
Once you’ve sent the details and paid, all that’s left is for the certificate to land on your phone.
Registering Event Businesses Across Osun State
We register event and conference businesses in every Local Government Area and major town on the list below, at the same price and turnaround. Ile-Ife, home of the Olojo Festival, and Osogbo, the state capital, tend to draw the most event activity, but a business in a smaller town is registered exactly the same way.
Aiyedaade, Aiyedire, Apomu, Atakunmosa East, Atakunmosa West, Boluwaduro, Boripe, Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo, Gbongan, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ife South, Ifedayo, Ifelodun, Ijebu-Jesa, Ikire, Ikirun, Ila Orangun, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Ilobu, Inisa, Irepodun, Isokan, Iwo, Modakeke, Obokun, Odo Otin, Oke Mesi, Ola Oluwa, Olorunda, Olupona, Oriade, Orolu, Osogbo, Otan Ayegbaju and Oyan.
If your business is anywhere in Osun State, we can register it.
A Run-Sheet Has No Room for a Portal Login
Event work lives on lists. There is a guest list that changes the night before, a vendor list waiting for confirmations, a run-sheet that assumes the MC arrives on time, and a generator that has to be fuelled before the hall fills up. Deposits need chasing, a canopy needs replacing because of rain, and the client wants one more change to the programme. Learning a government website does not fit anywhere in that week. Registering your business name is one task we can take off you completely, so your company already has a recognised name to put on quotes, vendor agreements and the bank account.
Who Gets the Most Out of Working With Us
Here’s a plain description of the owners who tend to be happiest with our service:
- You’d rather not spend an evening on CAC’s portal when you’re calling vendors, walking a venue and updating a guest list that keeps changing β you want the paperwork done while the event work carries on.
- You’re growing past personal celebrations β towards corporate launches, conferences and sponsored festival work, or a hall of your own β and you want a registered name to grow under.
- You’d like a straight recommendation β if a Business Name carries you through your first few events, we won’t talk you into the LLC before you need it.
- You want the cost settled before you start β β¦35,500, once, with nothing tacked on after payment.
If this sounds like your way of working, send your business name and we’ll take it from there.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for an event planning or conference business in Osun State? β¦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same in every Osun town. A Limited Liability Company is β¦65,500, also all-inclusive.
What do I get for the β¦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC application, the government filing fee, your Certificate of Registration as a soft copy, a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for an event planner? For most owner-run planners and suppliers, yes. It gives you a legal name for quotes, invoices and a bank account. Event-specific permits are separate.
Does CAC registration give me permission to hold public events? No. Public gatherings, road use and large events can need approvals from the local government or the police. CAC registration gives you the registered business name to work under.
Do event centres and hall owners register the same way? Yes. Building, occupancy and fire-safety approvals, and any state hospitality registration, are separate from CAC.
Can I register event planning and event rentals under one name? Yes. Describe the nature of business broadly, for example “event planning, decoration and rentals”.
Will the certificate help me win corporate or conference clients? Companies and organisations often ask for proof of registration before awarding event work, so the certificate is a useful document to have. It does not guarantee any contract.
I am a solo MC, usher or coordinator. Can I register? Yes. A one-person business is registered the same way as a larger one.
Do I need a licence if my events serve alcohol? Possibly. Liquor licensing is separate from CAC, so check what applies before you serve alcohol at an event.
Is event insurance part of this registration? No. Insurance for your events is arranged separately with an insurer and is not part of CAC registration.
When does a Limited Liability Company make more sense? If you own a venue, share ownership with partners, handle large corporate budgets or have an investor who wants a company structure, the company route is worth considering from the start.
My partner and I run the business together. Can we register? Tell us who the owners are. Shared ownership is a common reason to consider a Limited Liability Company, and we’ll tell you honestly which structure fits.
Do you register businesses outside Osogbo and Ile-Ife? Yes. We register event businesses across all of Osun State, from Ila Orangun and Ikirun to Iwo, Ilesa and Ikire, at the same price and turnaround.
I don’t have an office or hall yet. Can I still register? The application needs a business address in Osun State and its LGA. If you are still setting up, send the address you plan to use.
Is the TIN included? Yes. Your Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the β¦35,500.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
What if my chosen name isn’t available? Send a second option and we will check it straight away. Two or three ready names keep things moving.
Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses must file annual returns. It is a small separate step, and we can help when it is due.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many event businesses start with a Business Name and convert as they grow or take on partners. We can assist with the conversion.
Do I register again for each event I run? No. One CAC registration covers your business as a whole. Permits and approvals are handled event by event.
I run webinars and virtual events only. Do I still need an Osun address? Yes. The application needs a business address and LGA in Osun State, even if your events happen online.
