Opening a clinic, a maternity home or a nursing home in Ogun State involves a long list of approvals, and the first thing most of them want to see is a business with a proper legal name. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for health facility owners anywhere in the state, so the paperwork starts moving while you sort out your premises, your staff and your licences. Message us your business name on WhatsApp, and the filing, follow-up and certificate become our job.
What Ogun’s Health Insurance Scheme Expects From Providers
Ogun State has its own health insurance agency, the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency (OGSHIA), which was created on 27 May 2019. Its website says it has more than 500 accredited healthcare providers and more than 250,000 enrolled beneficiaries across the state’s 20 local governments. A private hospital or clinic that wants to treat those insured residents has to apply for accreditation, and the agency publishes a short list of minimum requirements. The first is a Hospital Services licence from the Department of Hospital Services in the state Ministry of Health. The others are qualified professionals, registration with the relevant regulatory bodies, a current practice licence and a facility suited to the level of service.
A CAC certificate is not on that published list, and it doesn’t replace any item on it. What it does is give your facility a registered name to apply under, invoice under and open a bank account under. Whether the Ministry of Health or the agency prefers a particular business structure is something to confirm with them, and it’s one reason we will tell you honestly when a Limited Liability Company may suit a larger facility better than a Business Name.

Business Name or Limited Liability Company?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Often chosen for | A single practitioner’s clinic, a small maternity home or home-care service | Larger hospitals, nursing homes, practices with several owners, or facilities seeking investors |
In healthcare, personal liability protection counts for more than in most trades. A Business Name can work for a modest, owner-run clinic, and it is the cheaper route. If your facility is larger, has several doctors as co-owners, takes inpatients or is raising outside money, a Limited Liability Company is usually the more sensible foundation. Some owners begin with a Business Name and convert later, and we can help with that. Confirm with the health authorities whether they have a preference for your type of facility.

Send the details, make the one payment, and leave the rest of the filing with us.

Care Doesn’t Pause for Paperwork
A health facility runs on rotas. There’s the morning clinic, the afternoon ward round, the night shift handing over to the next, the generator that has to start when the power drops, and the patient who arrives without warning. Whoever owns the facility is usually also answering calls from suppliers, checking drug stock and worrying about the next inspection. Registration is a task that nobody enjoys finding time for. If we take it off the list, the name on your signboard, your invoices and your licensing applications is settled, and you can give your attention to the people in your care.

A Registration Service That Fits a Clinic’s Day
We’re not the right fit for everyone, and we’d rather say so — here’s who usually benefits most from working with us:
- Your day is consultations, antenatal clinic, dressing changes and a waiting room that keeps filling — a government portal never fits between patients.
- You’re planning to grow from one clinic to a maternity wing, a second branch or a nursing home — and want a registered name that laboratories, suppliers and partner facilities will recognise.
- You want a straight answer on structure — if a Business Name fits a single-practitioner clinic we’ll say so, and if the size of the facility points to a company we’ll say that too.
- You’d rather the price be settled before the work starts — one figure, and it already includes CAC’s fee.
If that sounds like how you like to do business, you’ll probably enjoy working with us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to register with CAC before opening a clinic or hospital? Health regulators, banks and insurance schemes generally want to see the legal identity of the business, so the certificate is usually one of the first documents you need. Check with the licensing authority for your type of facility.
How much does CAC registration cost for a hospital or clinic in Ogun State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, wherever in the state your facility is. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.
What do I receive for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC application, the government filing fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Should a clinic be a Business Name or a Limited Liability Company? A small, owner-run clinic can use a Business Name. A larger hospital, a nursing home or a facility with several co-owners usually does better as a company, because the business stands apart from your personal assets.
Does CAC registration replace the Ministry of Health licence? No. The facility licence comes from the Department of Hospital Services at the Ogun State Ministry of Health. CAC gives you the registered name you apply under.
Does registering make me an OGSHIA provider? No. Accreditation with the state health insurance agency is a separate application with its own requirements, including the Hospital Services licence, qualified professionals and a suitable facility.
Do my doctors and nurses need separate registration? Yes. Practising licences are issued by the professional councils, and a business registration doesn’t license anyone to practise.
Can a nurse or midwife register a maternity home? The business name can be registered, but running a maternity home requires the right professional qualifications, licences and facility approvals. CAC registration doesn’t cover those.
Can I register a nursing home for elderly residents? Yes. Describe the nature of business as nursing home or elderly care. The approvals for running the home are separate from CAC.
My facility will have a pharmacy and a lab inside. Is that covered? Registering the business covers the name. Pharmacy premises and laboratories have their own registrations with the relevant councils.
What do I write as the nature of business? Keep it plain, such as “hospital and clinic services”, “maternity and child care services” or “nursing home and elderly care”.
What address do I give if the building isn’t finished? You need a business address and the LGA for the application. If your premises are still under construction, send us the address you plan to use.
Is the TIN included? Yes. The Tax Identification Number comes with the ₦35,500.
Will the certificate help with banks, equipment suppliers or HMOs? Banks usually ask for it when opening a business account, and suppliers and partner organisations often want proof of registration. It supports the request, but it doesn’t guarantee a partnership or approval.
Can a home-care nursing service or mobile clinic register? Yes. Describe what you provide, and use the address where the service is based.
Can I run more than one branch under one name? The registration covers the business as a whole. Licences and approvals attach to each facility separately.
What if the name I want is already taken? Send us a backup name or two and we’ll check them promptly. Having alternatives ready saves time.
Can I switch from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many facilities start with a Business Name and convert as they grow, and we can help with the conversion.
Several of us want to own the facility together. How should we register? A Limited Liability Company is normally the cleaner structure for co-owners, with directors and shareholders listed in the application.
Is there anything to file with CAC after the first year? Registered businesses must file annual returns. We can handle that when it falls due.
How soon can I open once CAC is done? The CAC certificate takes about 5–7 working days. Facility licensing, inspections and professional registrations run on their own timelines, so start those applications as early as you can.
Do you register facilities outside Abeokuta and Sagamu? Yes. We cover all of Ogun State, from Ipokia and Imeko Afon to Ijebu Ode and Ogun Waterside, at the same price and timeline.
