What Your ₦35,500 Covers

You make one payment of ₦35,500. The CAC filing fee and our service fee are both inside it, and nothing is added afterwards. If you would rather start as a company, a Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.

What Falls Outside This Registration

CAC registration gives your business a legal name. It does not authorise anyone to dispense medicines or run tests, and the items below are handled separately:

Business Name or Limited Liability Company: Which Suits a Pharmacy or Lab?

Business NameLimited Liability Company
All-inclusive cost₦35,500₦65,500
Separates you from the businessNoYes
What you receiveCertificate + Status Report + TINCertificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN
Usually suitsSingle-owner pharmacies, medicine stores and small laboratoriesWholesale or multi-branch operations, shared ownership or investors

For one owner running one outlet, a Business Name is normally enough to open a bank account, order from suppliers and issue receipts. A Limited Liability Company starts to make sense when partners join, an investor wants a company structure, or you plan to supply other pharmacies and clinics in volume, because the business then stands apart from your personal assets. Plenty of owners begin with a Business Name and convert later.

Why Registration Comes First in Osun’s Pharmacy and Laboratory Trade

Medicine retail is closely watched in Osun and the states around it. At a press conference in Osogbo, the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria’s Director of Inspection and Monitoring named Osun among the states where unregistered medicine shops and unlicensed pharmacies were a concern. In June 2026, PCN held a Continuing Education Programme in Osun State for holders of the Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendor licence, and its inspectors made inspection and accreditation visits to hospital pharmacies in the state on 24–25 August 2026. In neighbouring states, PCN’s national enforcement team sealed 724 premises in Kwara in June 2026 and 383 in Ogun in July 2026, many of them for operating without a licence or breaching its rules. The local professional pipeline is active too, since PCN has inducted pharmacy graduands from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Your CAC registration is a different step and does not replace a PCN premises licence or MLSCN laboratory registration. What it does is give your business a registered name and identity, which is the name you apply for those approvals under and the name that goes on supplier accounts, invoices and your bank paperwork. So the sensible order is simple: register the business name, then pursue the licence for your outlet or laboratory.

Registering Pharmacy and Laboratory Businesses Across Osun State

The price, documents and turnaround are the same whichever town your outlet is in. We register pharmacies, medicine stores and laboratories in every Local Government Area and major town on the list below.

Osogbo and the capital belt: Osogbo, Olorunda, Olupona, Orolu, Oyan, Egbedore, Irepodun and Ilobu. Osogbo, as the state capital, is where many owners want a registered name in place before approaching regulators and teaching-hospital suppliers.

Ede, Iwo and the western corridor: Ede North, Ede South, Ejigbo, Iwo, Ola Oluwa, Ikire, Apomu, Isokan, Gbongan, Aiyedaade and Aiyedire. These busy trading towns carry a steady flow of walk-in medicine buyers and wholesale deliveries.

Ife, Ilesa and the eastern axis: Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ife South, Modakeke, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakunmosa East, Atakunmosa West, Obokun, Oriade, Ijebu-Jesa and Oke Mesi. Ile-Ife’s university community and the Ilesa area support a strong demand for pharmacies and diagnostic services.

Igbomina and the northern towns: Ila Orangun, Ifedayo, Ifelodun, Ikirun, Boripe, Boluwaduro, Otan Ayegbaju, Inisa and Odo Otin. Outlets here often serve wide rural catchments where the nearest pharmacy or lab may be a long trip away.

If your outlet is anywhere in Osun State, we can register it.

Your Shelves and Your Bench Already Take Enough Attention

Pharmacy and laboratory work leaves little room for admin. There are expiry dates to check against the shelves, prescriptions to read twice, stock counts to reconcile after a wholesaler’s delivery, and a fridge or reagent store that cannot be left to chance when the power goes off. In a lab, specimens arrive early and results are expected the same day. You already carry the responsibility for what goes into a patient’s hands or what a report says. Registering the business name is one task we can lift off your list completely, so that when the work is done, your outlet already trades under a recognised name that appears on supplier orders, receipts and bank records.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does CAC registration cost for a pharmacy or laboratory in Osun State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, whichever Osun town you are in, with no extra charges added later. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.

What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC application, the government filing fee, your Certificate of Registration as a soft copy, your TIN and a CAC Status Report.

Is a CAC certificate the same as a pharmacy licence? No. The premises licence for a pharmacy or patent medicine store comes from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria. CAC registration gives you the registered business name that you apply under.

Do I need to be a pharmacist or lab scientist to register the business name? The CAC application itself asks for your identity and business details, not professional credentials. The professional requirements arise when you license the premises with PCN or MLSCN, and those are separate.

Can a patent medicine store register the same way? Yes. A patent and proprietary medicine store is registered with CAC like any other small business, and its PCN licence is handled separately.

Does a medical laboratory need anything besides CAC registration? Yes. Laboratories are regulated by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, and some may need further state health approvals. Check the current requirements for your type of lab.

Is a Business Name enough for a small pharmacy or laboratory? For most single-owner outlets, yes. It gives you the legal name you need for supplier accounts, receipts and a bank account. Licensing is a separate matter.

When does a Limited Liability Company make more sense? If you have partners, an investor who wants a company structure, or you plan to run a multi-branch or wholesale operation, the company route is worth considering from the start.

Do I need to do anything extra if I sell medicines online? Possibly. PCN has published Electronic Pharmacy Regulations for 2026, so check what applies to online sales before you go live. This is separate from CAC.

Do I need NAFDAC registration as well? NAFDAC deals with the products themselves, so the medicines and health items you stock should carry valid NAFDAC registration. It is separate from CAC and is not part of this service.

Do you register businesses outside Osogbo and Ile-Ife? Yes. We register pharmacies and laboratories across all of Osun State, from Ila Orangun and Ikirun to Iwo, Ilesa and Ikire, at the same price and turnaround.

I haven’t found my premises yet. Can I still register? The application needs a business address in Osun State and its LGA. If you are still arranging premises, send us the address you intend to use.

Is the TIN included? Yes. Your Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.

Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.

What if my chosen name isn’t available? Send a second option and we will check it straight away. Two or three ready names keep things moving.

Will the certificate help me supply clinics, hospitals or corporate clients? Organisations often ask for proof of registration before placing orders, so the certificate is a useful document to have. It does not guarantee any contract.

Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses must file annual returns. It is a small separate step, and we can help you with it when it is due.

Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many owners start with a Business Name and convert as the business grows or partners join. We can assist with the conversion.
