From moulding workshops and polythene bag makers to people who gather, sort and bale bottles for recyclers, Ogun State’s plastics trade runs along the same busy corridors as its factories. Whatever your link in that chain, a registered business name is how suppliers, buyers and regulators know exactly who you are. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for you, wherever in Ogun State your machines, yard or shop are located. It really is this simple: send us your business name on WhatsApp, and we’ll handle everything else.

New Federal Rules, Ogun’s Own Approach and What They Mean for Smaller Plastic Businesses
Plastics rules are shifting at both national and state level. The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) says the National Environmental (Plastic Waste Control) Regulations, 2026 are already gazetted, and when the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria asked for them to be suspended, NESREA declined. It says the rules are built on the “polluter pays” idea, that implementation will be phased, and that they are not a blanket ban on plastics.
Ogun State has taken a different public line from Lagos. In June 2025 the state’s Commissioner for Environment said Ogun was pursuing the conversion of single-use plastic waste into refuse-derived fuel for cement and metal-recycling furnaces, rather than copying Lagos’s ban. The state is also reported to have set up a Plastic Management Committee of regulators, manufacturers and research institutions, and to run a “Plastics for Cash” scheme that rewards people for sorting plastic waste. Alongside that, the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) has sealed plastic manufacturers on the Lagos–Ibadan and Abeokuta–Sagamu expressways, citing missing environmental approvals, lack of effluent treatment and a failure to provide protective equipment to workers.
Which rules apply to you depends on what you make, collect or sell, and those obligations sit with NESREA, OGEPA and other bodies. CAC registration doesn’t satisfy any of them. What it does is give your business a legal identity, so that when a regulator, a recycler or a bulk buyer deals with you, there is a registered name to deal with.

Business Name or Limited Liability Company?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| Price, everything inside | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Protects your personal assets | No | Yes |
| What you are given | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Tends to suit | A small moulding or nylon workshop, a collector or aggregator, or a trader | A factory with heavy machinery and staff, a recycler, or a business with partners or investors |
A Business Name is a workable start for a small workshop, a collection yard or a trading business: it gives you a registered name for invoices, buyers and a bank account. Plastics manufacturing and recycling bring heavier equipment, larger payrolls and environmental duties, so a company structure deserves a serious look once you scale up or share ownership, because the business is then kept apart from your personal assets. Many owners start as a Business Name and move to a company as production grows.

Heat, Noise and Tonnes of Material
Plastics is physical work: resin that arrives by truck, machines that need constant attention, a power cut that stops the extruder mid-run, bales of bottles waiting at the weighbridge, buyers who want their rolls or their cartons by a certain hour. You already manage the heat, the noise, the fuel and the people. Paperwork is the part that most easily slides to the bottom of the pile. Handing registration to us means your business ends up with a recognised name for your invoices, supplier accounts and bank paperwork, and your attention can stay on the line.
Who Tends to Get the Most Out of This Service
To save you time, here’s who this service is built for:
- You’d rather not take a morning away from the extruder, the moulding machine or the weighbridge to sort out CAC’s portal — you want it handled while production stays on.
- You’re moving toward bigger things — from a small moulding or nylon workshop to supplying wholesalers and manufacturers, or from collecting bottles to a recycling operation with its own machines — and you want a registered name to grow under.
- You like it when an agent tells you what you can skip — if the Business Name fits your current scale, we won’t steer you to the more expensive option.
- You’d rather see the full cost before anything is filed — ₦35,500 includes the government fee and ours, with nothing added later.
If that sounds like you, send us your business name and we’ll start the filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a plastic or polythene business in Ogun State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same wherever in Ogun State you operate. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC application, the government filing fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
How long does it take? Typically 5–7 working days once we have your details and payment.
Is a Business Name enough for a small plastic or polythene business? For most small workshops, collectors and traders, yes. It gives you the registered name you need for invoices, buyers and banking. A larger factory or shared venture may suit a company better.
Can plastic and polythene products go under one registration? Yes. Describe the business broadly when you apply, for example “plastic and polythene products manufacturing and sales”.
Do I need a separate registration for each product line? No. One registration covers the business, and you can describe your product range broadly. Approvals for particular products are handled separately.
Can I register a plastic collection or recycling business? Yes. Collectors, sorters and recyclers are registered the same way. Environmental approvals for recycling operations are separate.
Does CAC registration mean I comply with the new federal plastic waste regulations? No. Obligations under the National Environmental (Plastic Waste Control) Regulations, 2026 are enforced by NESREA and depend on what your business does. CAC registration only gives your business its legal name.
Do I need approvals from OGEPA? Manufacturing and recycling sites can need environmental approvals from the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency, such as effluent or chemical permits. Ask OGEPA what applies to your site. CAC registration doesn’t replace them.
Are polythene bags banned in Ogun State? Reports we reviewed showed that Ogun State was pursuing recycling and waste-to-fuel approaches rather than a Lagos-style ban, but rules change and federal regulations also apply. Check the current position with the relevant authorities before you plan production.
Do SON or NAFDAC rules apply to my products? Product standards depend on what you make. Plastic goods can fall under SON requirements, and packaging for food, drink or water can involve NAFDAC. Both are separate from CAC.
I trade in plastic goods and have no factory. Can I still register? Yes. You need a business address in Ogun State and its LGA for the application, which can be your shop or home. If you’re still arranging a base, send us the address you plan to use.
Will a CAC certificate help me supply manufacturers, wholesalers or recyclers? Larger buyers and processors often want proof of registration before they begin dealing with a supplier, so the certificate is a useful document to have. It does not guarantee any order.
I collect bottles through sorting programmes. Does registration help? Programme operators set their own requirements. A registered name lets you invoice and receive payment as a business, but it does not secure a place in any scheme.
Do you register businesses outside Sagamu, Mowe and Ota? Yes. We register businesses in every local government area of Ogun State at the same price and turnaround.
Is the price different in smaller towns? No. The price, requirements and turnaround are the same across the whole state.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
How is my certificate delivered, and can I get a printed copy? It arrives as soft copies on WhatsApp. You print it locally whenever you like.
Are there annual filings with CAC? Registered businesses have annual returns to file. It is a small separate step, and we can help with it when the time comes.
What if my first-choice business name is taken? We check the two names you give us in the order you rank them. If neither is available, we’ll ask you for another.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many plastics businesses start with a Business Name and convert as machinery, staff and volumes grow. We can assist with the conversion.
When does a Limited Liability Company make sense from day one? When you are building a factory or recycling plant, sharing ownership with partners, or an investor or major buyer requires a company structure.
Do I need to register if I’m an informal collector working alone? Many collectors start informally. Registration gives you a legal name for invoices, bank payments and dealings with larger buyers, and becomes more useful as you grow. We’ll tell you plainly if the Business Name is all you need.
