Plastic and polythene work covers a lot of ground: moulded buckets and basins, nylon rolls and carrier bags, packaging film, crates, pipes, and the scrap bottles that get sorted, baled and sold on for recycling. If you make, sell or recycle any of it in Plateau State, putting the business under a registered name is the first piece of paperwork worth settling. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We file Business Name registrations for owners across the state, from Jos to Shendam, and we deal with CAC so you don’t have to. It really is this simple: send us your business name on WhatsApp, and we’ll handle everything else.

- Reservation of that name in your favour
- Preparation and filing of your CAC Business Name application
- CAC’s own filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration, as a soft copy
- A Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report showing your business as active on the public register
Separate From This Registration
- A printed certificate — it arrives as a soft copy, and you can print it at any local business centre
- NESREA obligations, where they apply to your activity: producers, importers, recyclers and collectors may need to register under its Extended Producer Responsibility programme and follow its plastics regulations

- Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) quality requirements for manufactured plastic products, where relevant
- NAFDAC approval where a product is meant to hold or wrap food, drink or water

- Yearly CAC returns in later years, a small separate step we can handle when it falls due
Business Name or Limited Liability Company?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (all-inclusive) | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Protects your personal assets | No | Yes |
| What you receive | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Suits | Small moulding workshops, polythene sellers, scrap collectors and household-ware traders | Larger factories, recycling plants, and businesses with partners or outside investors |
Most owners who run a shop, a single machine line or a collection yard on their own do fine with a Business Name, and it covers what you need to trade under a proper name, issue invoices and bank your takings. A company starts to make sense when machinery and stock represent serious money, when several people own the business, or when a buyer or investor asks for it. Starting with the lower-cost option and upgrading later is common.
What to Have on Hand
- Two business names you’d like, listed in order of preference
- One valid ID — NIN, international passport or driver’s licence
- A passport photograph
- Your business address in Plateau State, with the LGA it falls under
- A phone number and an email address
- A short description of what the business does — for example “plastic products manufacturing and trading” or “plastic recycling and scrap collection”
- For a Limited Liability Company only: names, ID and details for each director and shareholder
How We Get You Registered
- We search CAC’s public portal to confirm your name is free — this happens on our side.
- We reserve the name as soon as it is confirmed.
- We complete the application using your business details and Plateau State address.
- You send your ID and passport photograph; a clear phone photo works.
- You make the single ₦35,500 payment, which covers everything listed above.
- Your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report reach you, normally within 5–7 working days.
From your side, that’s the entire process: one message, one payment, one certificate.
Plastics in Plateau: The Rules Around Your Registration
Plastic businesses in Plateau State work under rules set at both state and national level, and both are moving. In Jos, the Plateau Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA) runs programmes for waste collection, treatment, recycling and public awareness. At national level, the National Policy on Plastic Waste Management, launched in 2021, aims to reduce plastic waste, limit single-use plastics and encourage a circular plastics economy, and guidelines were later developed to help state and local governments put it into practice.
The federal environmental enforcement agency, NESREA, has gone further. In 2026 it unveiled plastic regulations that place responsibility on producers, importers and other businesses that put plastic products on the Nigerian market, with provisions covering plastic shopping bags, recycled content and recycling facilities. NESREA also accepts registration of operators in its Extended Producer Responsibility programme, including producers, recyclers and collectors, with applications going to its nearest office.
None of these bodies is replaced by a CAC certificate. What the certificate does is give your business a legal name and identity, and most applications ask who the business is, so a registered name tends to come first. Rules like these get updated, so check the current requirements for your own activity, whether you manufacture, trade, collect or recycle, before you apply.
Plastic and Polythene Registrations Across Plateau State
The price, requirements and turnaround are the same wherever you operate. These are the LGAs and towns we register plastics and polythene businesses in:
Jos and its surroundings — Jos North, Jos South, Jos East, Bukuru and Vom: shops, workshops, collection points and wholesalers in and around the state capital.
West and south-west of Jos — Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Bassa, Mangu, Panyam, Bokkos and Kwolla: traders and small producers serving market towns and farming communities.
Central Plateau — Kanke, Amper and Pankshin: general plastic traders, packaging suppliers and scrap buyers.
North-eastern Plateau — Kanam, Dengi and Wase: retailers and collectors serving the northern fringe of the state.
Southern Plateau — Shendam, Yelwa, Mikang, Langtang North and Langtang South: household-ware sellers, pipe and tank dealers, and bottle and scrap aggregators.
If your business is anywhere on the Plateau, it’s covered.
You Know the Machines; Leave the Forms to Us
You already know how a good polythene roll feels against a thin one, which resin batch ran cleanly, how heavy a sack of crushed bottles should be, and what a power cut does to a day’s production. Running a workshop, a yard or a stall leaves little patience for an online registration portal. Handing us the registration means your business trades under a recognised name on receipts, supplier accounts and bank forms, while you keep the machines turning and the stock moving.
A Good Match If…
Different business owners want different things from an agent — this is who we serve best:
- You’re on the factory floor or at the baling yard when the paperwork comes up — between a resin delivery, a machine changeover and a truck waiting to be loaded, CAC’s portal is the last thing you have time for.
- You’re planning beyond one outlet — from selling household ware and polythene around Jos to supplying wholesalers in other states, adding a recycling line, or taking larger orders from packaging buyers.
- You want a recommendation that fits your size — not the biggest package by default.
- You want a process without back-and-forth — send your details once, pay once, and there are no surprise charges afterwards.
If that sounds like you, send your business name and we’ll get started.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a plastic or polythene business in Plateau State? A Business Name is ₦35,500 all-inclusive, the same in every LGA. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What is covered by the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC application, CAC’s filing fee, a soft-copy Certificate of Registration, a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
How long does it take, and how do I receive the documents? Usually 5–7 working days. Everything is sent to you as a soft copy on WhatsApp, and you print it locally.
Is a Business Name enough for a small plastics business? For a workshop, shop or collection yard run by one owner, usually yes. It gives you the registered name you need to trade, invoice and bank.
Can I register if I only sell or collect plastic rather than make it? Yes. Traders, collectors and aggregators register the same way as manufacturers.
Can a plastic recycling business register? Yes. Describe the activity in plain terms, such as “plastic recycling and scrap collection”. Approvals specific to recycling are a separate matter.
Does a CAC certificate replace NESREA registration? No. NESREA has its own requirements for producers, importers, recyclers and collectors. CAC registration gives you the business name you apply under.
Do I need approval from PEPSA or another Plateau State body? It may apply, particularly if you store, sort or process plastic on your premises. Confirm the current requirements for your activity with the relevant office.
Will I need NAFDAC or SON approval? Possibly. NAFDAC may be relevant where your products hold or wrap food, drink or water, and SON where quality standards apply to what you manufacture. Both are separate from CAC.
Can I list manufacturing, trading and recycling together? Yes. You can describe the business broadly, so one name can cover more than one activity.
Do you register businesses outside Jos? Yes, across all of Plateau State, from Wase and Dengi to Shendam and Langtang, at the same price and turnaround.
Can one registration cover both my shop and my factory? One registration covers your business as a whole. Premises-level permits from local authorities generally attach to each location, so check them for every site.
Will the certificate help me win supply deals? Wholesalers and larger buyers often ask for proof of registration before placing regular orders, so it is a useful document to have. It does not guarantee any order.
Can I open a business bank account with it? Yes. The certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
Is the TIN included? Yes, a Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
Do I have anything to file with CAC later? Registered businesses file annual returns. It’s a small, separate step and we can help when it comes due.
What if my first-choice name is taken? Send a second name and we’ll check it straight away. Two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Can I move up to a Limited Liability Company later, and when is that worth it? Yes, and we can assist with the conversion. A company makes sense once you’ve invested heavily in machinery or stock, have partners, or an investor requires that structure.
