A poultry house in Ogun State might hold a few hundred layers behind a family compound in Ijebu Ode, or thousands of broilers on a commercial farm off the Abeokuta road. Either way, the farm sells to egg traders, caterers, hotels and neighbours who want to know who they are dealing with. Putting the business under a registered name is a practical first step. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We run the name search, file the application and deliver your certificate for poultry, goat, pig, cattle and other livestock businesses anywhere in Ogun State. A Business Name is ₦35,500 all-inclusive, and a Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
One WhatsApp message with your business name is all it takes — we manage the rest.

Business Name vs. Limited Liability Company
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Small layer and broiler farms, goat, pig and cattle keepers | Large commercial farms, hatcheries, and ventures with partners or investors |
A Business Name is usually enough while you run a modest farm yourself, selling eggs, birds or animals to traders and neighbours. A Limited Liability Company starts to make sense when the farm is large, when you bring in partners, or when an investor, lender or institutional buyer wants to deal with a company. Many farmers register a Business Name first and upgrade as the flock grows.
Ogun’s Poultry Push: The Ajegunle Poultry Station and Council Revivals
Ogun State’s government has been putting public poultry facilities in the hands of farmers. In late September 2026, the state signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ajegunle Broiler Company Limited, on Ajebo Road in Abeokuta, covering the use of the Ajegunle Poultry Station and its associated infrastructure. At the signing, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security said the agreement was drawn up by his ministry together with the Ministry of Justice. He said the beneficiaries were chosen through a competitive process with many applicants, and that they were expected to provide the necessary funds and start meaningful production within a 90-day period set out in the agreement. A director of one of the beneficiary farms, Felaj-Fab Farms, thanked the government and said the farmers would work together to meet the agreement’s aims.
At local level, the Ado-Odo/Ota council announced in April 2026 that it was reviving its poultry facility, with ten additional battery cages and 1,000 pullets to expand egg production. These projects show the state’s interest in livestock, but registration with CAC does not give you a place in any of them. Nothing here promises access to a facility, a grant or a contract. What a registered name does is give your own farm a legal identity when you deal with buyers, suppliers and banks, or when you apply to a programme that asks who you are.
A Farm That Starts Before Sunrise
Poultry does not wait for office hours. Feed and water go out at first light, eggs are collected, birds are checked, vaccination dates have to be kept, and a power cut means a generator has to be fuelled before the birds notice. Goat, pig and cattle keepers have equally fixed routines. Registering a business with CAC is not on that daily list, which is why it so often gets pushed back. It is also one of the easiest tasks to hand to someone else. You focus on the animals, and we deal with the filing, so that when a customer or supplier asks for your business details, you have a registered name ready to give them.

This Might Be a Great Fit If…
We’re not the right fit for everyone, and we’d rather say so — here’s who usually benefits most from working with us:
- Your mornings go to feeding, watering, egg collection and vaccination dates, and the generator comes before any paperwork — you’d rather the filing be taken care of while you tend the flock or herd.
- You’re aiming past the farm gate — from selling crates and birds locally towards supplying egg distributors, caterers, hotels and larger buyers, or from a single pen towards a hatchery or a bigger flock — and you want a registered name to grow under.
- You want honest advice, not an upsell — if a Business Name covers your stage, that’s what we’ll recommend.
- You want one message to actually mean one message — no chasing documents back and forth, no surprise extra fees once you’ve paid.
If any of that rings true, you’re likely a good match for how we work.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a poultry or livestock farm in Ogun State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same wherever in Ogun State your farm is. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I receive for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for a small poultry farm? For most owner-run farms, yes. It gives you a registered name for sales, invoices and a bank account. Large or shared-ownership ventures may prefer a company.
Can goat, pig and cattle farmers register the same way? Yes. Poultry, piggery, goat, sheep and cattle businesses are registered under the same process and price. Describe your activity in the nature of business.
Does CAC registration give me access to the Ajegunle Poultry Station or other state facilities? No. Access to any government facility or programme is arranged separately with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security or the council involved. Registration gives your business a legal name that such applications may ask for.
Do I need veterinary registration as well? If you run a farm, usually not for the farm itself. If you operate a veterinary clinic or sell veterinary drugs, separate registration with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria may apply. Confirm the current requirements for your activity.
Can I register a farm that also sells feed or day-old chicks? Yes. Describe the nature of business broadly. Some activities, such as drug sales, may carry their own approvals.
I’m still building the pens. Can I register now? You need a business address in Ogun State and its LGA for the application. If the farm site is not ready, send the address you plan to use.
What if my first name choice is taken? Send a second name and we will check it straight away. Two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. Banks ask for the certificate with your ID and other details when opening a business account.
Do I have to file anything with CAC after registration? Registered businesses file annual returns. It is a small separate step, and we can help when it falls due.
When does a Limited Liability Company make sense for a livestock farm? If you are building a large commercial farm or hatchery, sharing ownership with partners, or supplying institutional buyers who want a company, consider it from the start. You can also begin with a Business Name and upgrade later.
