A salon, barbershop or spa in Rivers State lives on repeat customers, referrals and bookings made by phone or Instagram, and clients increasingly want to know the business behind the chair. A registered business name gives your shop, studio or mobile service that identity. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for hairstylists, barbers, spa owners and beauty professionals across the state, so you can stay with your clients while the paperwork moves.
A CAC Business Name costs ₦35,500, with the CAC government fee and our own fee both included. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive, for anyone who would rather start as a company.
Message us your business name on WhatsApp, and our team carries the registration from there.

💰 Cost: ₦35,500 (All-Inclusive) ⏱️ Turnaround Time: 5 – 7 Working Days ✅ What You Get: Official CAC Certificate + Certified Status Report + TIN 🚚 Delivery: Soft Copy Sent via WhatsApp (Print Hard Copy Locally)
What Your ₦35,500 Covers
One payment of ₦35,500 settles the whole registration for your salon, barbershop or spa. CAC’s fee and ours are both counted in it, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay.
- A search of CAC’s register to confirm your preferred name is free
- Reservation of the name once it clears
- Preparation and submission of your Business Name application to CAC
- The CAC government filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration in soft copy
- A Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report showing your business as active on the public register
What Falls Outside This Registration
Registration gives your business a legal name. It does not approve your products, your hygiene practices or your premises, and these items are handled separately:
- Printed copies of your certificate. You receive a soft copy on WhatsApp and can print it locally.
- NAFDAC registration for any hair, skin or beauty product you manufacture, import or sell under your own label, and checking that products you use or resell carry valid NAFDAC numbers.
- Health, hygiene and sanitation requirements for salons, barbershops and spas, including tool sterilisation and waste handling, and any inspections that local or state health authorities may carry out.
- Training certificates or professional qualifications for therapeutic services such as massage, where your clients or insurers may expect them.
- The lease for your shop or studio, signage approvals, fire-safety arrangements and a reliable power setup.
- Membership of and dues to trade associations for barbers, hairdressers and beauty professionals, where you choose to join or are expected to.
- Insurance for client injury, equipment and stock.
- Local government levies and the state and federal taxes that apply to your business.
- A business bank account, opened with your chosen bank once your certificate is ready.
- Annual returns with CAC in later years, a small separate step we can also help with.
Business Name or Limited Liability Company for a Salon or Spa
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Suited to | Single-chair barbers, hairstylists, makeup artists, mobile stylists, small salons | Multi-branch salons, spa centres, academies, businesses with partners or investors |
| Think about it when | You run the chair or shop yourself and need a legal name for bookings and banking | You hire a team, sign a larger lease, open branches or bring in investors |
A Business Name is usually enough for a barber, a stylist or a single-shop salon. A Limited Liability Company becomes worth considering once you have several staff, more than one location, a larger lease or investors, because the business then stands apart from your personal assets.
Documents to Have Ready
- Two proposed business names, ranked by preference
- One valid ID — National ID (NIN), international passport, or driver’s license
- A passport photograph
- Your business address in Rivers State, with its LGA
- A phone number and email address
- A short description of the business, such as “hair salon, barbing and beauty services” or “spa, massage and wellness services”
- If you choose a Limited Liability Company: names, ID and details of each director and shareholder
The Registration Timeline
- Name check. We search CAC’s public portal to confirm availability.
- Reservation. The name is held for you once it clears.
- Application. We complete the form with your business details and Rivers State address.
- Your documents. You send your ID and passport photograph, and a clear phone photo is enough.
- Your payment. You pay ₦35,500 once, covering everything above.
- Delivery. Your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report arrive, usually within 5–7 working days.
In short: you send the details and make one payment, and the certificate comes to you.
Products, NAFDAC and the Salon Chair in Rivers State
Every salon and spa depends on products, and in Rivers State that is also where regulation bites. NAFDAC, the federal agency that regulates cosmetics, requires that cosmetic products be registered before they are made, imported, advertised or sold, and its coverage includes hair care items such as shampoos, conditioners and dyes. The agency has been active in Rivers: it destroyed fake, expired and substandard products worth ₦4.7 billion at a Port Harcourt dump site, including unsafe and counterfeit cosmetics, and a national cosmetics safety policy approved at the National Council on Health in Calabar in November 2025 is set to run from 2026 to 2030, with enforcement covering imported and locally made cosmetics.
For a salon, barbershop or spa, that means buying from suppliers who can show NAFDAC registration numbers, and being careful with unlabelled creams, relaxers and dyes. CAC registration does not register any product and does not replace hygiene or health requirements. What it gives you is a legal business name, an address and a TIN, which suppliers, landlords, corporate clients and banks usually ask for. Public business directories list Port Harcourt salons and barbing shops in places such as Victoria Street and along Airport Road at Rukpokwu, and the trade extends across the state. Rules and enforcement priorities change, so check the current requirements with NAFDAC and your local health authority.

Clippers, Braids and a Full Waiting Bench
A bride is booked for six in the morning, a braiding session runs long, the generator hiccups and a bench full of clients waits for the next free chair. Appointments arrive by phone and message, supplies run short at the worst moment, and the day ends with tools to clean and a till to count. You know your clients, your techniques and your products far better than any registration system. The name registration is one job that can come off your list entirely, and afterwards your business can appear on receipts, booking pages and bank documents under a recognised name.
This Might Be a Great Fit If…
We’re not the right fit for everyone, and we’d rather say so — here’s who usually benefits most from working with us:
- You’re mid-braid with a full waiting bench, a bride booked for early morning, or a clipper that has gone quiet in a power cut — you’d rather the CAC paperwork was finished for you than squeezed in between clients.
- You’re aiming past one chair — from a single room or booth to a second branch, a spa suite, trainees or an academy, bridal and corporate bookings, or supplying wigs and products, and you want a registered name to grow under.
- You prefer being told what you actually need — if the Business Name does the job today, we’ll leave the company route for when it’s worth it.
- You’d rather not chase anyone — one message starts it, and the price you’re quoted is the price you pay.
If that’s the kind of service you want, message us and we’ll begin.
Questions From Rivers Salon, Barbing and Spa Owners
How much does CAC registration cost for a salon, barbershop or spa in Rivers State? ₦35,500, all-inclusive, for a Business Name, in every LGA. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC application, the CAC government fee, your soft-copy Certificate of Registration, a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
I run a single chair, work from home or travel to clients. Can I register? Yes. A Business Name suits single-chair barbers, home-based stylists and mobile makeup artists. You need a business address in Rivers State and its LGA, which can be your home.
Is a Business Name enough, or should I choose a Limited Liability Company? For a barber, a stylist or a single-shop salon, a Business Name is often enough to start. A Limited Liability Company is worth considering from the beginning if you hire several staff, open more than one location, sign a larger lease or take investment.
Does the certificate give me a health permit or product approval? No. It gives your business a registered name. Health and hygiene requirements and product registration come from the relevant authorities and are handled separately.
Do barbershops and hair salons register the same way? Yes. The process, price and turnaround are identical for barbing, hairdressing and unisex shops.
Can spas and massage studios register? Yes. Spa and wellness businesses register as a Business Name like any other. Any qualifications or health requirements for treatments are separate from CAC registration.
Can nail technicians, makeup artists and lash studios register? Yes. Describe the services you offer in your own words on the application, and the process is the same.
I sell wigs, hair extensions or beauty products. Is that covered? The business name can include selling them. Products you make or sell under your own label need NAFDAC registration, which is separate from CAC.
Can I put a salon, spa, product sales and training under one name? Yes. Describe the nature of business broadly, for example “hair salon, beauty services, sale of wigs and products and beauty training,” and one registration covers it.
Can beauty and barbing academies register? Yes. Training businesses register as a Business Name like any other. Certificates you issue to students are your own matter and are separate from CAC.
What address do I use if I rent a chair or a room in someone else’s shop? Use the address you can actually give, such as your home or the shop where you work with the owner’s agreement, and name its LGA. The address you give becomes your business address on the registration.
Do you register businesses outside Port Harcourt? Yes. We register salons, barbershops and spas across Rivers State, from Etche and Ahoada to Bonny, Okrika and Opobo, at the same price and turnaround.
Will the certificate help me get bridal, corporate or hotel bookings? Companies, hotels and event organisers often ask for proof of registration before arranging regular or bulk bookings, so the certificate is a useful document to hold. It does not guarantee any booking.
Does registration help with loans, grants or equipment financing? Lenders and support programmes commonly ask applicants to show a registered business, and the certificate, TIN and Status Report are the documents usually requested. Approval is always their decision, and nothing is guaranteed.
Will it help me get credit from hair and product suppliers? Suppliers often ask for proof of registration before opening a trade account. It is a useful document to hold, but they decide whether to extend credit.
Does registering stop someone else from using my salon’s name? CAC will not register a name identical to or too close to an existing registered name, which helps protect it on the register. A trademark is a separate step with its own registry.
I only take bookings online and through Instagram. Can I register? Yes. You still need a business address in Rivers State and its LGA, such as your home, and the registration works the same way.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses file annual returns. It is a small, separate step, and we can help with it when the time comes.
What if my first-choice business name is taken? Send a second name and we’ll check it right away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many salons and spas start with a Business Name and convert as they add staff, branches or investors. We can assist with the conversion.
Can co-owners or partners register one business together? Yes. A Business Name can be registered by partners, and you would need each partner’s details. If investors are involved or ownership is complex, a Limited Liability Company may suit you better.
When does it make sense to start with a Limited Liability Company? If you are planning several branches, a larger spa, an academy, shared ownership or outside investment, the LLC route is worth considering from day one.
Do I need a separate registration for each branch? One registration covers your business as a whole. Premises-level approvals and health requirements generally attach to each location, so confirm what applies to every branch you open.
Can I register before I have opened my shop? Yes. You need a business address in Rivers State and its LGA, and you can use your home or the address you plan to use. Registering early lets you open accounts, sign leases and take bookings under your business name.
