Every vehicle on the roads of Ogun State, from the Lagos-bound buses to the haulage trucks and the keke on a Remo side street, eventually needs a part: a filter, a set of brake pads, a battery, a tyre or a gearbox. If you sell those parts from a shop in Abeokuta, a stall on the Ota road or a wholesale store in Sagamu, your customers include mechanics, drivers, fleet managers and companies, many of whom prefer to buy from a business with a registered name. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We run the name search, file the application and deliver your certificate wherever your shop is in Ogun State. A Business Name is ₦35,500 all-inclusive, and a Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
There’s no extra step hiding behind this: message us your business name, and we take it from there.

What Ogun’s Border Seizures Mean for a Parts Dealer
Auto-parts stock is one of the most closely watched items on Ogun’s roads. The Nigeria Customs Service’s Ogun I Area Command, based at the Idiroko border post, has regularly reported seizures that include tyres. For the period April 1 to June 23, 2026, the command reported 146 seizures with a duty paid value of about ₦4.6 billion. Among them was a truck intercepted on June 3 along the Ijebu-Ode axis, carrying 2,427 pneumatic tyres concealed in a vehicle marked “For Sale”. In its update covering August 14 to September 17, 2026, the command listed another 428 pneumatic tyres among seizures worth about ₦2.47 billion. For 2025, it reported 2,034 used tyres among its seizures. The command described the used tyres in its June report as among prohibited items.

Nothing here says that parts dealers are involved in smuggling, and most are not. The practical lesson is for your own shop: the safest stock comes from traceable suppliers, backed by invoices and receipts, and sold by a business that can show who it is. Registering your business name with CAC will not keep your stock out of trouble, and it does not replace import, customs or standards compliance. What it does is give your shop a legal name to buy, sell and keep records under.

Business Name vs. Limited Liability Company
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Single-shop retailers, tyre sellers and small parts traders | Wholesalers, importers, multi-shop businesses, and owners with partners or investors |
A Business Name is usually enough while you run one shop yourself and need a legal name for invoices, supplier accounts and a bank account. A Limited Liability Company becomes worth considering when you begin importing or wholesaling in volume, when partners join, or when large buyers and suppliers prefer to deal with a company. Many parts dealers register a Business Name first and upgrade when the stock room outgrows the shop.

A Counter That Never Gets Quiet
A spare-parts shop is a daily test of memory and patience. A customer describes a part by the car’s model and year, a mechanic phones to ask whether you have the right pump in stock, a supplier’s delivery arrives half-complete, and the stock count never matches the book. In between all that, registering with CAC rarely gets its turn. It can be taken off your list entirely. You keep serving the counter, and we handle the filing, so that when the next bulk buyer, supplier or bank asks for your business details, you have a registered name to give them.
Is This Right for Your Business?
Before you decide, here’s an honest look at who gets the most from our service:
- You open the shop early, match part numbers to car models all day and settle stock counts after closing, so a government portal is the last thing you want to open in the evening — you want the filing done while the counter keeps running.
- You’re aiming past walk-in customers — from selling single parts to supplying garages, mechanics and fleets in bulk, or from one shop to a second outlet or a wholesale store — and you want a registered name to grow under.
- You want a recommendation that fits your size — not the biggest package by default.
- You want a process without back-and-forth — send your details once, pay once, and there are no surprise charges afterwards.
If that sounds like how you like to do business, you’ll probably enjoy working with us.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a spare-parts business in Ogun State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same wherever in Ogun State your shop is. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for a single parts shop? For most owner-run shops, yes. It gives you a registered name for invoices, supplier accounts and a bank account. Wholesalers and importers may prefer a company.
Can tokunbo (used) parts dealers and tyre sellers register too? Yes. New-parts, used-parts, tyre, battery and lubricant businesses are registered the same way. Describe your activity in the nature of business.
Does CAC registration cover importing parts or clearing goods? No. Importing is governed by customs and other rules, and some items, such as used tyres, are restricted. Check the current requirements before you import.
Do I also need SON approval? Standards rules apply to certain products, not to the business name. Check with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria for the items you sell or import.
I run a small lock-up shop. Do I need the Ogun State premises permit? The state’s permit portal says the permit applies to businesses operating from premises, but excepts lock-up shops and kiosks. Check the portal or the ministry for your set-up.
What if my first name choice is taken? Send a second name and we will check it straight away. Two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. Banks ask for the certificate along with your ID and other details when opening a business account.
Do I file anything with CAC after registration? Registered businesses file annual returns. It is a small separate step, and we can help when it falls due.
When does a Limited Liability Company make sense for a parts business? If you are importing or wholesaling in volume, sharing ownership with partners, or dealing with buyers and suppliers who want a company, consider it from the start. You can also begin with a Business Name and upgrade later.
