From Osogbo’s busy roads to the Ife–Ilesa corridor and the Ibadan-facing towns of Iwo, Ikire and Gbongan, vehicles in Osun State keep running on a steady supply of brake pads, filters, batteries, tyres and the odd hard-to-find gearbox part. If you sell those parts, giving your shop a registered business name is a practical first piece of paperwork. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for you, wherever your shop or store is in Osun State, so you can keep serving the mechanic who just walked in with a worn part and a part number scribbled on his palm. Send your business name on WhatsApp and consider it handled — that’s genuinely the extent of what’s asked of you.

What Falls Outside This Registration
CAC registration gives your shop a legal name. It is not a product approval, and a few things in the spare parts trade are handled by other bodies:
- Printed copies of your certificate (it arrives as a soft copy; print it locally whenever convenient)
- Product-standard requirements from the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for parts you import or sell, such as brake components, tyres and batteries
- Import documentation and duties through the Nigeria Customs Service if you bring in containers of parts yourself, including any restrictions on particular used items
- Any shop, signage or trading levies charged by Osun State or your local government council
- Environmental rules for handling used oil, old batteries and other waste from your premises, including NESREA requirements where they apply
- Value-added tax and other tax obligations that apply once your sales reach the relevant thresholds
- Business bank account opening, done with your chosen bank once your certificate is in hand
- Annual returns filing in future years — a small, separate step we can also help with when the time comes
Business Name or Limited Liability Company?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Owner-run shops, single-location dealers and growing retailers | Importers, wholesalers with partners, and anyone chasing fleet or bulk supply deals |
A Business Name is usually enough when you run the shop yourself, buy from your regular suppliers and need a legal name for your invoices, supplier accounts and bank account. A Limited Liability Company starts to make sense when you are importing in volume, taking on partners, or supplying fleets and institutions that expect a company on the other side of the invoice, because the business then stands apart from your personal assets. Plenty of dealers begin with a Business Name and convert later.
Documents to Have Ready
- Two proposed business names, ranked by preference
- A valid means of ID — National ID (NIN), international passport, or driver’s license
- A passport photograph
- Your business address in Osun State — including the LGA
- Phone number and email address
- Nature of business — described simply, e.g. “sale of motor vehicle spare parts and accessories” or “auto parts importation and distribution”
- If you choose Limited Liability Company instead: names, ID and details of directors and shareholders
The Registration Timeline
- Check name availability on CAC’s public search portal — handled on our end.
- Reserve the name once availability is confirmed.
- Complete the application with your business, proprietor and Osun address details.
- Upload your ID and passport photograph — a clear phone photo is fine.
- Pay the ₦35,500 filing fee, one payment that covers everything above.
- Receive your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report, usually within 5–7 working days.
Six steps, and only two of them involve you — everything else runs on our end.
Where Osun’s Technical Training Meets the Parts Counter
Cars no longer run on spanners alone. Sensors, control modules and wiring now sit alongside the mechanical parts, and the people who diagnose them need a supplier who can source the right component. Osun has a training institution pointed at exactly that shift. The Osun State College of Technology (OSCOTECH) at Esa-Oke, in Obokun Local Government Area, became autonomous on 12 October 1992 after starting life as a satellite campus of the Polytechnic, Ibadan. The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has since approved a Higher National Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering Technology with an Automotive Mechatronics option there, alongside the Mechatronics Engineering programme it re-accredited at National Diploma level.
For a spare parts seller, the practical point is simple: as more technicians in the state train on vehicle electronics, the demand moves toward correct, traceable parts and away from guesswork. Nationally, the Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPMDA) has said it is tightening enforcement against fake and substandard parts. A shop that trades under a registered name, with proper invoices, is better placed to show buyers it stands behind what it sells. Registration does not certify your products, but it is the first document a supplier, a workshop or a bank will usually ask about.

Parts Are Matched by Number, Not by Guess
You already know the difference between a pattern part and an original, which Toyota needs the longer wiper arm, and why a customer will return the same afternoon if the filter doesn’t fit. Your day is made of part numbers, supplier calls, restocking trips and customers who need the car back on the road before evening. Registration shouldn’t compete with that. Once it’s done, your shop has a recognised name that sits on your invoices, supplier accounts and bank paperwork, and that is one fewer thing to sort out between customers.
You’ll Probably Like Working With Us If…
We’re not the right fit for everyone, and we’d rather say so — here’s who usually benefits most from working with us:
- You’d rather not work out CAC’s portal while a customer is waiting for a part number to be looked up — you want the paperwork done while you keep the counter open and the stock moving.
- You’re aiming past the single shop — from selling across the counter to supplying workshops, fleet owners and smaller dealers in neighbouring towns, or importing parts yourself — and you want a registered name to grow under.
- You want a recommendation that fits your size — not the biggest package by default.
- You want one message to actually mean one message — no chasing documents back and forth, no surprise extra fees once you’ve paid.
If this describes you, we’d be glad to take the paperwork off your hands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a spare parts shop in Osun State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same wherever in Osun your shop is. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for a spare parts business? For most owner-run shops and single-location dealers, yes. It gives you the legal name and registration to trade, invoice and open a business account. Importers and those supplying fleets or institutions may later prefer a company.
Does CAC registration cover SON approval or import permits? No. Product-standard requirements and import documentation are handled by other bodies, so check what applies to the parts you bring in or sell.
I sell both new and tokunbo parts. Do I need two registrations? No. Describe your business broadly when you send the details, and one registration can cover both.
I also sell tyres, batteries and engine oil. Can they sit under the same name? Yes. Describe the nature of business to include them. Some of those products may carry their own standards or environmental rules.
Will a CAC certificate help me deal with suppliers and workshops? Suppliers and workshops often ask for proof of registration before extending credit or agreeing recurring supply, so it is a useful document to have. It does not guarantee credit or any contract.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
My shop is in a market stall, or I haven’t fixed my address yet. Can I still register? You need a business address in Osun State and its LGA for the application. If you are still arranging premises, send the address you plan to use.
Do you register businesses outside Osogbo, Ife and Ilesa? Yes. We register spare parts businesses across all of Osun State, at the same price and turnaround.
What if my proposed business name isn’t available? Send a backup name and we will check it right away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Is the TIN included, and do I have annual filings to make? The TIN is part of the ₦35,500. Registered businesses also file annual returns later, which is a small, separate step we can help with. And if you outgrow a Business Name, we can assist with converting to a Limited Liability Company.
