Here’s Exactly What You’re Paying For

The ₦35,500 is the complete figure. CAC’s filing fee and our service fee both sit inside it, so there is no second invoice waiting once you’ve paid. If you would rather begin as a company, the Limited Liability Company route is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.

A Business Name is usually enough while you are a freelancer, a one-room studio or a consultant who needs a legal name for quotations, invoices and a bank account. A company starts to make sense when you add partners, hire a team or want your firm to stand apart from your personal assets. One thing worth knowing: ARCON’s rules speak of licensed organisations and bodies corporate when it comes to agencies, and a Business Name is not a company. If an ARCON agency licence is your goal, ask ARCON which structure it accepts for the category you want before you choose. Starting with a Business Name and upgrading later is a common path.

Before You Reach Out

  1. Two proposed business names, in order of preference
  2. A valid ID — National ID (NIN), international passport or driver’s license
  3. A passport photograph
  4. Your business address in Taraba State, with the LGA
  5. A phone number and an email address
  6. A short description of what the business does, e.g. “advertising and public relations services” or “branding, printing and digital marketing”
  7. If you go the Limited Liability Company route: names, ID and details of the directors and shareholders

From Message to Certificate

  1. Name availability check — we run it on CAC’s public search portal.
  2. Name reservation — locked in once the name is confirmed available.
  3. Application completed — with your business, owner and Taraba address details.
  4. ID and passport photograph uploaded — a phone photo works.
  5. One payment of ₦35,500 — it covers everything listed above.
  6. Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report delivered, normally within 5–7 working days.

Six steps, and only two of them involve you — everything else runs on our end.

Two Layers of Oversight Advertisers in Taraba Should Know About

Advertising in Nigeria is overseen at federal level by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, created by the ARCON Act, 2022, which repealed the older Advertising Practitioners (Registration, Etc.) Act. The Act requires ARCON to keep a register of practitioners and of agencies entitled to do advertising business, and the Council announced that corporate licensing for agencies would begin on 1 April 2024. The services it named include full-service advertising, creative work, media planning and buying, digital marketing, experiential marketing and out-of-home advertising, which covers most of what a Taraba agency sells.

The broadcast side has its own regulator. The National Broadcasting Commission keeps an office in Jalingo and monitors content on stations in the state, and its Taraba officer has noted that radio is still a main source of news and education for rural audiences. That is part of why jingles and radio spots carry weight here: the Taraba State Broadcasting Service runs AM and FM stations from Jalingo, and a 2017 state contract covered new digital equipment for those stations and for booster stations at Bali, Sardauna and Wukari.

Your CAC registration is neither an ARCON licence nor an NBC approval. What it gives you is the registered name and identity you apply under. Because licensing rules change, confirm the current ARCON requirements for your type of business before you apply.

Your Craft Is Making Other People Memorable. Your Own Name Should Be on Paper Too.

Your day is made of other people’s deadlines: a client’s banner proof that needs one more revision, a print run that has to be collected before an event, a radio spot to book, a launch that cannot slip. Good advertising and PR work lives or dies on details clients notice at once, such as colours that match the brief, a message that lands and an invoice that arrives on time. When a school, an NGO, a bank branch or a growing shop asks for a quotation, they often want to see a registered name behind it. Getting that name on paper is a task we can lift off your desk completely. Once it’s done, your proposals, invoices and bank paperwork all carry the same recognised name.

Is This Right for Your Business?

Different business owners want different things from an agent — this is who we serve best:

If that sounds like you, send your business name and we’ll get started.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to register an advertising or PR business in Taraba State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, in any LGA of the state. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.

What exactly comes with the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.

Is a Business Name enough for a small ad agency or PR consultancy? For a freelancer, small studio or consultant, usually yes. It gives you a legal name for quotations, invoices and a bank account. Larger firms and those with partners often prefer a company.

Does CAC registration make me an ARCON-licensed agency? No. ARCON licensing is a separate process with the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria. Your CAC registration gives you the registered name you apply under.

Should I start with a Limited Liability Company if I want to run a full agency? It is worth considering. ARCON’s rules refer to licensed organisations and bodies corporate for agencies, so confirm with ARCON which structure it accepts for your category. If a company turns out to be the right fit, we can register one at ₦65,500 or help you upgrade later.

Can a freelance designer, copywriter or photographer register? Yes. Many solo professionals register a Business Name so that clients can pay into a business account and receive invoices under a proper name.

Can I register my printing or banner work under the same name as my advertising business? Yes. Describe the nature of the business broadly, for example “advertising, branding and printing services”.

Does the certificate allow me to put up billboards or signage? No. Outdoor displays usually need separate permits from the relevant state or local authority, so check with the one covering your LGA.

I’m based outside Jalingo, in a place like Gembu or Takum. Can you still help? Yes. We register businesses across all 16 LGAs at the same price and turnaround.

I work from home and have no office yet. Can I still register? You need a business address in Taraba State and its LGA for the application. If you’re still arranging premises, send the address you plan to use.

Do I have to come to Jalingo or visit your office? No. Everything runs on WhatsApp and your certificate arrives as a soft copy there.

Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.

Will the certificate help when I pitch to NGOs, schools or institutions? Organisations often ask for proof of registration before awarding recurring or larger jobs, so it is a useful document to have. It does not guarantee any contract.

Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number comes with the ₦35,500.

What if my proposed business name isn’t available? Send a backup and we’ll check it straight away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.

Is there anything to file with CAC in later years? Registered businesses have annual returns to file. It’s a small, separate step and we can help when it’s due.

Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many businesses start small and convert as they add partners, staff or bigger clients. We can assist with the conversion.

How do I receive the certificate, and how long does it take? Your certificate, TIN and Status Report are sent to you as soft copies on WhatsApp, usually within 5–7 working days, and you can print them locally.
