Aluminium and glass work is precise, physical and often done on other people’s premises: windows measured on site, doors hung in a half-finished building, a shopfront glazed before the owner opens for business. If you run that kind of workshop in Taraba State, putting it under a registered business name is a sensible early step, and it does not need to cost you a day away from the cutting table. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for you, wherever your workshop or showroom is in the state. All we need to begin is the business name — send it over WhatsApp and the rest is taken care of.

Standards, Gauges and a Taraba Project: What Matters in Aluminium and Glass Work
For anyone who sells or makes aluminium roofing sheets, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) is the body that shapes the trade. BusinessDay has reported that SON and the sheet manufacturers agreed the minimum gauge would remain 0.4mm with no negative tolerance, and trade press has quoted SON saying that sheets thinner than that would be seized. The News Agency of Nigeria has also reported SON presenting MANCAP certificates to 13 aluminium roofing-sheet makers in Imo, with a call for other manufacturers to formalise their operations. On imports, SON has said that roofing products must arrive with a SONCAP certificate, and that sheets without one are treated as smuggled. Requirements can change, so check the current position with SON for whatever you stock or make.
Taraba also hosts the Mambilla hydropower scheme on the Donga River, a project first conceived in the early 1980s that has moved in fits and starts since. Whether or not a given contract ever reaches a local fabricator, large public projects and the contractors around them are the kind of buyer that asks suppliers for their registration documents before doing business. A CAC certificate will not certify your products or satisfy SON, since those are separate matters. What it gives you is the registered business name that every one of those conversations begins with.

Separate From This Registration
CAC registration gives your business a legal name. These items are handled separately, and several are specific to aluminium and glass work:
- Printed copies of your certificate — you receive a soft copy and can print it at any business centre
- SON requirements for roofing sheets and other products you make or sell, including MANCAP certification for manufacturers and SONCAP for imported goods
- Customs duties and import documents for aluminium profiles, coils, glass panels and accessories you bring in, and exporter registration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council if you sell outside Nigeria
- Workshop, showroom and signage permits issued by your local government council
- Approvals for the premises where you cut, store and fabricate
- Safety arrangements for your crew, including protective gear for glass cutting and work at height, and any insurance you choose to take out
- Employer obligations such as pension and employee-compensation contributions, once your staff numbers reach the level where they apply
- Your tax filings, including VAT where it applies to your sales and installations
- Opening a business bank account, done with your bank after your certificate arrives
- Annual returns in later years — a short, separate filing that we can also handle

Business Name or Limited Liability Company: Which Fits Your Workshop?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (all-inclusive) | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal assets kept separate | No | Yes |
| Documents delivered | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| A natural fit for | Owner-run workshops, fabricators and glass shops | Larger fabrication businesses, importers of profiles and glass, and firms with partners or investors |
A Business Name usually covers a single workshop or showroom: it gives you a legal name for quotations, invoices and a bank account. A Limited Liability Company starts to make sense when you buy glass and profiles in large quantities on credit, bid for sizeable building contracts, or share ownership with partners. Many fabricators begin with a Business Name and convert later.
Aluminium and Glass Registration in Each of Taraba’s 16 LGAs
The price and the turnaround do not change from one local government area to the next. These are the areas we register workshops, showrooms and installation crews in.
Taraba Central. In Jalingo, the state capital, we register fabricators, glass shops and profile dealers working near the government offices and Taraba State University. We do the same for workshops in Ardo Kola, Karim Lamido, Lau, Yorro and Zing, whether you work from a shed, a shop front or a showroom.
Taraba North. Bali, which includes the Suntai polytechnic, and Gassol, around Mutum Biyu on the A4 road toward Jalingo, are covered, along with Gashaka, Kurmi and Sardauna. In Sardauna, workshops in the Gembu area on the Mambilla Plateau register at the same price as workshops anywhere else.
Taraba South. Wukari, Takum, Donga, Ibi and Ussa make up the southern group. Whether you cut glass in a Benue River town like Ibi, or fabricate frames in Takum, where the state’s college of health technology is based, the registration is identical.
Anywhere in Taraba State, you are covered.

Your Work Is Measured in Millimetres; Paperwork Shouldn’t Be Your Problem
You know that a frame out by two millimetres will not sit square, that a pane cut a fraction short will not seat, and that the silicone has to cure before the client touches the window. Your day is the tape measure, the spirit level, the cutting wheel and the argument over whether the quotation included glass. Registering the business is a different kind of precision work, and it is the one you can pass on entirely. When it’s finished, your quotations, receipts and supplier accounts carry a registered name that customers, builders and suppliers can recognise.
A Good Match If…
Before you decide, here’s an honest look at who gets the most from our service:
- You’d rather not be stuck on CAC’s portal while a glass pane is waiting to be cut, a client’s window openings need measuring or an installation crew is waiting for instructions — you want the paperwork done while the work carries on.
- You’re planning to move from single-house window and door jobs to supplying builders and estate developers with bulk fabrication, or to open a showroom in Jalingo or Wukari — and you want a registered name to take with you.
- You prefer being told what you actually need — if the Business Name does the job today, we’ll leave the company route for when it’s worth it.
- You want things kept simple — your details, one payment, your certificate.
If that’s the kind of service you want, message us and we’ll begin.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for an aluminium and glass business in Taraba State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, whichever Taraba LGA you work in. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I receive for the ₦35,500? The name check and reservation, the completed CAC application, the government filing fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for an aluminium and glass workshop? For most owner-run workshops and showrooms, yes. If you later bring in partners, investors or large building contracts, you can move up to a company.
Does CAC registration cover SON requirements? No. SON sets product standards and certification separately. CAC registration gives your business its legal name and nothing beyond that.
I only fabricate windows and doors. Do I need anything from SON? That depends on what you make and the materials you use. SON’s published activity covers products such as aluminium roofing sheets, so check directly with SON for anything that applies to your products.
I sell aluminium roofing sheets. Does the gauge matter? Yes. SON has reported a minimum gauge of 0.4mm for aluminium roofing sheets. Requirements can change, so confirm the current standard with SON before you stock.
Can I register aluminium works and a glass shop under one name? Yes. Describe the business broadly, for example “aluminium and glass works”, and both activities can sit under the same registration.
My workshop is a roadside shed. Can I use that as my address? Yes. Use the address where the business operates and name the LGA it falls under.
I haven’t rented a workshop yet. Can I still register? You need a business address in Taraba State and its LGA for the application. If you are still arranging premises, send the address you plan to use.
I install in towns outside the one where my workshop is. Do I need a separate registration? No. One registration covers your business as a whole. Local permits for premises are handled separately, so check what applies in each place.
Will a certificate help me get jobs from builders and developers? Contractors and organisations often ask for proof of registration before awarding work or buying in bulk, so it is a useful document to hold. It does not guarantee any job.
Does the certificate cover importing profiles or glass? No. Customs duties and import documents are handled separately. The certificate gives you the registered name you will use on that paperwork.
I have apprentices and a few workers. Does the registration cover them? No. Employer obligations such as pension and employee compensation are separate from CAC registration.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, together with your ID and other details.
Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses file annual returns. It is a short, separate step, and we can help when it falls due.
What if my chosen name is already taken? Send a backup name and we will check it straight away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many aluminium and glass businesses start with a Business Name and convert as they grow, and we can help with the conversion.
When does it make sense to start with a Limited Liability Company? If you plan to share ownership with partners, buy materials in large volumes on credit, or an investor wants a company structure, the company route is worth considering from day one.
Do you register businesses outside Jalingo? Yes. We register aluminium and glass businesses in all 16 LGAs of Taraba State, from Sardauna and Gashaka to Wukari and Takum, at the same price and with the same turnaround.
