Fresh juice, bottled zobo, kunu and other cold drinks sell themselves on a hot day, but only when someone has squeezed, brewed, bottled and delivered them first. If you make or sell non-alcoholic drinks in Zamfara State, putting the business under a registered name is a sensible first piece of paperwork. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for juice makers, local-drink producers and beverage distributors anywhere in Zamfara State, so you can stay focused on your recipes and your customers. One message with your business name on WhatsApp is enough to set the whole process in motion.

Business Name or Limited Liability Company for a Beverage Business?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (all-inclusive) | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Protects personal assets? | No | Yes |
| What you receive | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Typically suits | Small juice and local-drink producers, juice bars and event suppliers | Larger bottling operations, distributors, and owners with partners or investors |
A Business Name is usually enough when you produce or sell drinks under your own name and need a registered name for orders, receipts and a bank account. A Limited Liability Company becomes worth considering when you scale up to bottling at volume, share ownership, or bring in investors, since the business then stands apart from your personal assets. Many producers start with a Business Name and upgrade later.
Zobo, Kunu and Juice: Why a NAFDAC Number Matters
Bottled zobo, kunu and fura de nono are everyday drinks across northern Nigeria, and women from the north can be seen selling them in bottles on the streets of cities as far away as Lagos. They are also food products, and food regulators care how they are made and labelled. NAFDAC’s labelling rules, as summarised in a US government resource that may be dated, call for the registration number on the label and a best-before date or shelf life on food products, with no exceptions. The risk of getting this wrong shows up in Kano, where NAFDAC arrested people over counterfeit concentrated juice, found a producer using a fake NAFDAC registration number, and urged the public to avoid roadside juice and buy from supermarkets. The same report recalled an earlier case of counterfeit juice in the state that left at least 10 people dead. Genuine local producers have every reason to be registered and traceable.
Zamfara has its own agro-processors. ZAUFA A Enterprises, a women-led business that turns locally sourced produce into chemical-free, value-added food and beverage products, has opened talks with the RMRDC Zamfara State Office at the Malam Yahaya Gusau Federal Secretariat in Gusau, asking for modern processing equipment, technical training and advice on packaging standards. We did not confirm the outcome. CAC registration does not give you a NAFDAC number or any support programme; it gives your business a legal name, which is where the rest of the paperwork starts.
Cold Drinks, Early Starts
A beverage business starts before the day gets hot: fruit to wash, hibiscus or millet to prepare, bottles to clean and fill, labels to stick on, and orders to deliver before the shops open. When the drink is cold and the bottle is sealed, the customer rarely thinks about all that work behind it. Registering the business name is one job you can hand over completely. Once it is done, your business trades under a recognised name for order forms, receipts and bank paperwork.

Who This Service Suits Best
Different business owners want different things from an agent — this is who we serve best:
- Your mornings go to boiling, blending, bottling and delivering — and you’d rather not spend an evening learning CAC’s portal.
- You’re growing from a table at the junction to supermarkets, schools and event orders — or from one product to a small range of juices, zobo and kunu.

How long does registration take? Usually 5–7 working days once your details and payment are in.
Is the price the same in every LGA? Yes. The price, documents and turnaround are identical anywhere in Zamfara State.
Is a Business Name enough for a juice or drinks business? For most owner-run juice bars, local-drink producers and small bottlers, yes. It gives you the registered name you need to start. NAFDAC and premises matters are separate.
When does a Limited Liability Company make more sense? If you are building a bottling operation, sharing ownership with partners, or an investor or large buyer wants a company structure, the LLC route is worth considering from day one.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many producers start with a Business Name and convert as the business grows. We can assist with the conversion.
Can I register a fresh juice bar or juice seller? Yes. Juice bars and sellers register the same way as other beverage businesses.
Can I register a bottled juice producer? Yes. It is registered under the same Business Name price. NAFDAC requirements for packaged products are separate.

Can soya milk and yoghurt makers register? Yes. Small-scale makers of soya milk, yoghurt and similar products register the same way.
Can drinks distributors and wholesalers register? Yes. A business that supplies non-alcoholic drinks to shops and vendors can be registered at the same price. We do not register alcohol businesses in Zamfara State.
Can an event beverage supplier register? Yes. Businesses supplying cold drinks and juices for events register the same way.
Do I need NAFDAC registration for my drinks? It generally applies to packaged food and drink products, and it is a separate step handled by NAFDAC. We do not do it for you, so ask NAFDAC what applies to your products and premises.
What has to be on the label? NAFDAC’s labelling rules call for the registration number and a best-before date or shelf life on food products, according to a US government summary that may be dated. Check NAFDAC for the current requirements.
Does CAC registration give me a NAFDAC number? No. CAC registration gives your business a registered name. A NAFDAC number comes only from NAFDAC’s own process.
Can I use someone else’s NAFDAC number? No. In a Kano case, a juice producer who used a fake NAFDAC number was arrested and his warehouse sealed. Use only your own registration.
I make drinks at home. Which address do I use? A home or shop address in a Zamfara State LGA works for CAC, as long as you can give the LGA. NAFDAC and local rules for production premises are separate, so confirm them before you scale up.
Does registering protect my brand name? No. CAC registration gives you a registered business name, while trademark protection is a separate process through the Trademarks Registry.
Can I sell juice, zobo and kunu under one business name? Yes. Describe the nature of business broadly, for example “beverage production and sales”. Each product may have its own NAFDAC requirements.
I operate more than one outlet or production site. Do I register each? One registration covers your business as a whole. Any premises approvals are separate, so confirm what each location needs.
Will the certificate help with supermarkets, schools and offices? Buyers and organisations often ask for proof of registration before placing regular orders, so the certificate is a useful document to have. It does not guarantee any order.
Does registration give me access to support programmes? No. Support from bodies such as RMRDC’s Zamfara State Office is separate from CAC. A registered name is one document they may ask for, but it does not guarantee any support.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
Will I get a printed certificate, and how is it delivered? You receive a soft copy on WhatsApp, which you can print locally whenever you like.
What if my first-choice name isn’t available? Send a backup name and we will check it right away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
What should I write as the nature of business? Keep it simple and broad, such as “fruit juice production and sales” or “zobo and kunu production”. We can help you word it when you send your details.
Do I need to file anything with CAC in later years? Yes, registered businesses file annual returns. It is a small, separate step and we can help with it when the time comes.
