CAC Business Name Registration for Salon & Spa in Zamfara State

A good salon or barbershop is built chair by chair: regulars who ask for the same stylist, brides who book weeks ahead, young men who want the cleanest fade in town. Putting a registered name over that door is a sensible next step. Onelove Business Ventures, an accredited CAC agent, registers hair salons, barbing shops, beauty studios and spas across Zamfara State. A Business Name costs ₦35,500 all-inclusive and a Limited Liability Company costs ₦65,500 all-inclusive, with the CAC filing fee and our service fee both built into those figures. Send the name you have in mind over WhatsApp; the search, filing and follow-up are looked after.

Skills Graduates, Start-Up Kits and Zamfara’s Shop-Front Trades

Hairdressing and barbing are among the trades Zamfara is actively training people in. In December 2025 it was reported that the state graduated 1,600 trainees under its Government Enterprises and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) Skills Acquisition initiative, after three months of training across 21 trades that included hairdressing and barbing alongside tailoring, welding and ICT. The programme was described as providing working tools and post-training support so that graduates can start their own businesses, with a second batch of 3,500 trainees being prepared and women’s training spaces set up to respect local cultural and religious values. The state’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has also said it is pursuing skills-acquisition and small-business support for women.

For anyone coming out of a programme like this and opening a shop, the practical next step is a business name: something to put on the signboard, a record for a bank account, and proof of registration for a landlord, supplier or event client who asks. Registration is not a condition of those programmes, and it does not qualify anyone for them or for any start-up support. On the regulatory side, we did not find a Zamfara-specific licensing rule for salons or barbershops, so confirm what your LGA office expects for your premises. If you sell cosmetics or hair products, those are a separate matter with NAFDAC. The programme details are as reported and may change.

Here’s Exactly What You’re Paying For

One payment of ₦35,500 covers each of the following for your Zamfara salon, barbershop or spa:

If you would rather register as a company, the same ground is covered at ₦65,500 all-inclusive, with a Memart added to the documents you receive.

A single salon or barbershop is usually well served by a Business Name: you get a legal name for your signboard, receipts and bank account. A Limited Liability Company becomes worth considering when you open several branches, bring in partners or investors, or want the business kept apart from your personal assets. Starting small does not close off the company route.

Before You Reach Out

Have these ready, and the application can move without delays:

  1. Two business names you would like, ranked by preference
  2. A valid ID — National ID (NIN), international passport or driver’s license
  3. A passport photograph
  4. Your business address in Zamfara State, with the LGA it falls under
  5. A phone number and an email address
  6. A short description of what the business does, for example “hair salon and beauty services” or “barbing and grooming services”
  7. If you choose a Limited Liability Company: the names, ID and details of each director and shareholder

From Message to Certificate

  1. Name check — we search CAC’s public portal to see whether your name is available.
  2. Reservation — once it is clear, we reserve it.
  3. Application — we complete the form with your business, owner and Zamfara address details.
  4. Documents — you send your ID and passport photograph; a phone photo is fine.
  5. Payment — you make the single ₦35,500 payment.
  6. Delivery — your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report arrive, usually within 5–7 working days.

Share your details, make the payment, and wait for the certificate; the rest runs without you.

You Know the Craft; Leave the Paperwork to Us

Your days are measured in appointments: the first customer waiting before you’ve unlocked, the generator that has to hold through a long day of dryers and clippers, the bride who needs everything done before the ceremony, the festive weeks when every chair is booked. Working out CAC’s portal in the gaps between all that is hard to justify. Once the registration is done, your business has a name you can put on the signboard, on receipts and social-media pages, and on the paperwork that landlords, suppliers and event clients may ask for.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does CAC registration cost for a salon, barbershop or spa in Zamfara State? A Business Name is ₦35,500 all-inclusive, whichever LGA you are in. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.

What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, CAC’s government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.

Is a Business Name enough for a salon or barbershop? For most single-shop owners, yes. It gives you a legal name for your signboard, receipts and banking. A company becomes worth considering with several branches, partners or investors.

Can barbers, hairdressers, henna artists and spas all register? Yes. Personal-care and beauty businesses of every kind can be registered the same way. Describe what you do in the nature-of-business line.

I work from home or travel to clients. Can I still register? Yes. You need a business address in Zamfara State and its LGA for the application. You can use your home address.

Is there a Zamfara licence I need for a salon or barbershop? We did not find a Zamfara-specific salon licence. Ask your LGA office what applies to your premises, since requirements can vary.

Do I need NAFDAC if I sell hair or skin products? If you make, import or sell your own cosmetics brand, NAFDAC’s requirements apply and are separate from CAC.

Does CAC registration give me a trade certificate? No. It registers your business name. A skills certificate is something you or your staff earn through training.

Do I need a health or hygiene inspection? Your premises may be subject to hygiene checks by the local health authorities. This is separate from CAC registration.

I finished a skills programme. Do I need to register to open my shop? Registration is not a condition of those programmes, but a registered name is useful for a signboard, a bank account and dealings with landlords and suppliers.

Does registration qualify me for start-up support or a skills programme? No. Those programmes set their own eligibility, and CAC registration does not qualify you for them.

Can I register a salon, a product shop and a training school under one name? Yes, if you describe the business broadly. Each activity may have its own approvals, such as NAFDAC for products.

Which LGAs do you cover, and does the price change between them? We cover all 14, from Anka to Zurmi, at the same price, requirements and turnaround.

How long does it take? Usually 5–7 working days once your details and payment are in.

How will I receive my certificate? As a soft copy on WhatsApp. You print it locally whenever you need a hard copy.

Is the TIN included? Yes. The Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.

What is the CAC Status Report? It is a document confirming that your business is active on CAC’s public register, which is useful when a landlord, supplier or bank asks for proof.

What if my first-choice name is taken? Send another and we will check it straight away. Having a backup ready saves time.

How many names should I send? Two, ranked by preference, so that if the first is unavailable we can move to the second.

I rent a small shop or stall. Can I use that address? Yes. Use the address where you operate and name its LGA.

Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. The certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.

Will a certificate help me win bridal, event or corporate clients? Event planners, hotels and organisations often ask for proof of registration before booking or contracting a beauty business, so the certificate is useful to have. It does not guarantee any booking.

Can I use my registered name on my signboard and social media? Yes. Once your name is registered, you can use it on your signboard, receipts and social-media pages.

Do my stylists or apprentices need to be named in the registration? No. The application is for you as the owner, or for the directors and shareholders if you register a company. Staff are not listed.

Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses file annual returns. It is a small, separate step that we can help with when it falls due.

Can I move from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes, and we can assist with the conversion when you are ready.

When does it make sense to start with a Limited Liability Company? If you plan several branches, bring in partners or investors, or want the business kept apart from your personal assets, the company route is worth looking at from the start.

Does a Business Name protect my personal assets? No. A Business Name does not separate you from the business. A Limited Liability Company does.

Can I register more than one branch under a single name? One registration covers the business as a whole. Local permits and approvals usually attach to each set of premises, so confirm them for every branch you open.

Will there be extra charges after I pay? No. The ₦35,500 covers the filing and our fee together, and nothing is added later.
