Cameras, alarms, access control and fire-safety equipment are bought on trust. Customers let you into their homes, shops, offices and compounds, and they want to know the business behind the installation is real. A registered business name is one of the simplest ways to show that. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We take care of the name search, the filing and the certificate for security and safety businesses in any of the 14 local government areas of Zamfara State. All we need to begin is your business name on WhatsApp; the paperwork behind it is our job.
Zamfara’s Surveillance Spending and What It Means for Installers
Security technology is a visible public priority in Zamfara. HumAngle reported that in 2020 the state government spent more than ₦3 billion on CCTV cameras for locations across Gusau, and noted that camera networks covering many sites depend on trained operators and forensic support to be useful. In March 2025 the state’s delegation announced a partnership with Phoenix Wings, a Chinese firm specialising in surveillance technology including drones. In February 2026 the government launched armoured vehicles and surveillance drones for security forces at Government House in Gusau.
For a private installer, none of that is a guaranteed source of work, because government equipment is bought through its own channels. It does suggest that customers are growing more familiar with surveillance technology, and that they will ask who installs, maintains and repairs it. Two cautions apply. A CAC certificate registers your business name only; it is not a security-company licence. And footage of identifiable people can count as personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, which the Nigeria Data Protection Commission enforces, so ask how that applies to the systems you install or monitor.

Business Name vs. Limited Liability Company
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive price | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Solo installers, small installation teams and security-equipment shops | Firms with partners, larger contracts, or owners who finance stock and vehicles |
If you install and service systems yourself or with a small crew, a Business Name usually covers what you need: a registered name for quotations, invoices and a bank account. A Limited Liability Company becomes worth considering when you have partners, buy stock or vehicles on credit, or take on larger contracts where you want the business separate from your personal assets. Many owners begin with a Business Name and upgrade later.
Requirements for CAC Registration in Zamfara State
- Two proposed business names, ranked by preference
- A valid means of ID — National ID (NIN), international passport, or driver’s license
- A passport photograph
- Your business address in Zamfara State — indicating the LGA
- Phone number and email address
- Nature of business — described simply, for example “CCTV and security systems installation” or “security and safety equipment sales and installation”
- If you choose Limited Liability Company instead: names, ID and details of directors and shareholders
Step-by-Step: How Little This Actually Takes
- Check name availability on CAC’s public search portal, which we do for you.
- Reserve the name as soon as it is confirmed.
- Complete the application with your business, owner and Zamfara address details.
- Upload your ID and passport photograph; a phone photo works.
- Pay the ₦35,500 filing fee, a single payment covering everything above.
- Receive your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report, usually within 5–7 working days.
After you hand over your details and pay once, the rest of the journey to your certificate is ours.
What’s Not Usually Included
A CAC certificate gives your business a legal name. Several things specific to security and safety work are arranged separately:
- Printed copies of your certificate, which we deliver as a soft copy for you to print locally
- Licensing from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), if you also supply guards or run monitoring services, depending on the work you do
- Data-protection obligations under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 for footage you store, monitor or manage for clients
- Import paperwork if you bring in cameras, recorders or alarm panels, including customs clearance and any SON requirements
- Type approval or standards requirements for wireless and radio-based equipment, where they apply
- Fire-safety competence or approvals for alarm and extinguisher work, where the fire service or a client requires them
- Contractor or vendor registration if you want to bid for government or institutional work
- Local government trading permits for your shop or workshop, where they apply
- Federal and state tax obligations that apply to installers and equipment sellers
- Business bank account opening, done with your own bank once the certificate is in hand
- Annual returns filing in later years, a small separate step we can handle

Where We Register Security and Safety Businesses in Zamfara State
Price, requirements and turnaround do not change by location. In Gusau, the state capital, installers and equipment shops work with homes, offices, banks, schools and markets. Along the main roads, Bungudu, Talata Mafara, Kaura Namoda and Chafe (also written Tsafe) have traders, filling stations, warehouses and compounds that ask for cameras and alarms. In Maru, Zurmi, Birnin Magaji/Kiyaw and Shinkafi, we see technicians who serve shops, schools and farmhouses. Across Maradun, Bakura, Bukkuyum, Gummi and Anka, small equipment sellers and freelance installers handle local requests.
Every one of the state’s 14 LGAs is covered. If your business is anywhere in Zamfara State, you can register through us.
Site Visits Come First; the Paperwork Can Wait on Us
Your work happens on site: a ladder against a wall, cable run through a ceiling, a compound surveyed for blind spots, and a late-evening call about a camera that has gone offline. Between quotes, supplier orders and after-sales visits, there is little room for a registration portal. Letting us handle it means one job less on a long list. When it is complete, your quotations, invoices and supplier accounts can carry a business name that appears on CAC’s public register, so customers can check who they are hiring.
This Might Be a Great Fit If…
Before you decide, here’s an honest look at who gets the most from our service:
- You spend your days on site — up a ladder running cable, surveying a compound for camera angles, or answering a call about a camera that went offline — and the paperwork gets done at night, if at all.
- You’re moving from one-off house and shop installs towards maintenance work, offices, schools and estates, or a stock-holding shop for security gear, and you want a registered name on your quotations and invoices.
- You prefer being told what you actually need — if the Business Name does the job today, we’ll leave the company route for when it’s worth it.
- You want a process without back-and-forth — send your details once, pay once, and there are no surprise charges afterwards.
If this describes you, we’d be glad to take the paperwork off your hands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a CCTV or security business in Zamfara State? ₦35,500, all-inclusive, for a Business Name. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive. The price is the same in every LGA.
What is included in the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed and submitted CAC application, CAC’s filing fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Will any extra fees appear after I pay? No. CAC’s fee and our service fee are both inside the ₦35,500, and nothing is added afterwards.
Is a Business Name enough for a CCTV installation business? For most solo installers, small teams and equipment shops, yes. It gives you a registered name to quote and invoice under. Licences for particular services are separate.
Does CAC registration make me a licensed security company? No. It registers your business name only. Any security-sector licensing comes from the relevant authority and is arranged separately.
Do I need an NSCDC licence? It depends on your services. Supplying guards or running monitoring services may need one, while installation alone may not. Check with NSCDC for your particular work.
Does data protection law apply to the cameras I install? It can. Footage of identifiable people may count as personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Ask the Nigeria Data Protection Commission how it applies to your services.
Do imported cameras and alarm equipment need approvals? Imports involve customs and may involve SON or type-approval requirements, depending on the product. That is handled separately from CAC registration.
Can a freelance technician or one-person installer register? Yes. You can register in your own right using your ID and passport photograph.
Can I register an equipment shop and installation services together? Yes. Describe the business broadly, for example “sale and installation of security and safety equipment”, and it covers both.
Can I register a fire-safety, alarm or extinguisher business? Yes. Describe the services you offer, such as fire alarm installation or safety equipment supply, and we file it like any other registration.
Can access control, electric fencing or GPS tracking businesses register? Yes. Include whichever of these you offer in the nature of business.
What address should I use if I work from a van, a workshop or home? You need a Zamfara State address and its LGA for the application. A home or workshop address that you actually use is fine to send.
Do I need to visit an office? No. The process runs through WhatsApp: you send your details, ID and passport photo, pay, and receive your documents there.
Do you register businesses outside Gusau? Yes. We cover all 14 LGAs, from Anka and Bakura to Zurmi and Shinkafi, at the same price and turnaround.
How long does it take? Usually 5–7 working days from submission.
How will I get my certificate? As a soft copy on WhatsApp. Print it locally whenever you need a hard copy.
Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number comes with the ₦35,500.
Can partners register one Business Name together? Yes. Send each partner’s details. A Business Name does not separate your personal assets from the business.
What if my preferred business name is taken? That is why we ask for two names. If both fail, send another and we’ll check it right away.
Will clients or tender panels ask for my registration? Companies, estates, schools and public bodies often ask for proof of registration before they hire a contractor, so the certificate is useful to hold. It does not guarantee any job.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. It is one of the main documents banks ask for, along with your ID and other details.
When should a security business consider a Limited Liability Company? When you have partners, are buying stock or vehicles on credit, are chasing larger contracts, or want the business kept apart from your personal assets.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many owners begin with a Business Name and convert as the business grows, and we can assist with the conversion.
Can I put the registered name on quotations, invoices and uniforms? Yes. Once registered, you can trade under the name on quotes, receipts, signs, vehicles and branded wear.
Can one registration cover more than one shop or branch? One registration covers the business as a whole. Local permits for a shop or workshop usually apply per location, so check them for each one.
Will registration change how much tax I pay? The registration comes with a TIN, but your actual tax obligations as an installer or equipment seller are separate. Check what applies to your activities.
Can I register before my first installation job? Yes, as long as you have a Zamfara State address and its LGA to give. Many owners register first so the name is secured.
Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses have annual returns to file. It is a small, separate step that we can handle for you.
