Running a hospital, clinic or nursing home means patients are trusting you with something far more precious than a purchase: their health, and often a family member’s. That trust starts with a business that is properly identified, and a registered business name is the first piece of paperwork that gives your facility a legal identity. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for you, wherever your facility is in Ondo State, so you can stay focused on your patients. There’s no extra step hiding behind this: message us your business name, and we take it from there.

Business Name or Limited Liability Company for a Health Facility?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (all-inclusive) | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Often chosen by | Owner-run clinics, maternity homes and small nursing homes | Larger hospitals, facilities with several owners, or those seeking outside investment |
A Business Name suits a clinic or maternity home run by one practitioner or a small team: it gives you a legal name for patient receipts, supplier accounts and your bank account. A company becomes the better fit when the facility is larger, ownership is shared among partners, or investors are coming in, because the business then stands apart from your personal assets. Many owners begin with a Business Name and convert as the facility grows.
What to Have on Hand
- Two proposed business names, ranked by preference
- One valid ID: National ID (NIN), international passport or driver’s license
- A passport photograph
- Your facility’s address in Ondo State, with the LGA
- A phone number and email address
- A short description of your services, for example “hospital and medical clinic” or “maternity home and nursing care”
- If you opt for the Limited Liability Company: names, ID and details of every director and shareholder
How We Get You Registered
- We check availability of your names on CAC’s public search portal.
- We reserve the name once it’s confirmed free.
- We complete the application using your business and address details.
- You send your ID and passport photograph, and a phone photo is enough.
- You pay ₦35,500 once, covering everything above.
- Your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report reach you on WhatsApp, usually within 5–7 working days.
That’s genuinely the whole process from your side: one message, one payment, one certificate.
Ondo’s Rules for Private Health Facilities
Private healthcare in Ondo State is tightly watched, and the state has made its expectations plain. In May 2024, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health told private health practitioners’ associations that all private health practitioners in the state must register and validate their facilities with the Department of Hospital Services, and said the ministry was ready to sanction unregistered facilities. He framed the push as a way to stamp out quackery, and warned that no private hospital would be allowed to train nurses. The association’s chairman said members were licensed and registered, and asked the government to bring back the College of Nursing in Akure so facilities could find qualified nurses.
This is not new. In October 2019, the then Commissioner for Health sealed eight private health facilities in Odigbo Local Government Area, around Ore, saying that many had failed to register or renew their licences. The lesson for any owner is the same: the state checks both the facility and the paperwork behind it. Ministries and health insurance schemes commonly ask for proof of business registration, so confirm the Ondo ministry’s current checklist for what it requires. CAC registration does not replace any of that, but it gives your facility the registered name you apply under. Register the name first, then deal with the ministry and your professional councils.
Registering Health Facilities Across Ondo State
The price, requirements and turnaround are identical wherever your facility is. We register hospitals, clinics and nursing homes across the state, grouped here by senatorial district.
- Ondo North: Akoko North-East, Akoko North-West, Akoko South-East, Akoko South-West, Ose and Owo
- Ondo Central: Akure North, Akure South, Idanre, Ifedore, Ile Oluji/Okeigbo, Ondo East and Ondo West
- Ondo South: Ese Odo, Ilaje, Irele, Odigbo (including Ore) and Okitipupa
- Other communities: Agbabu, Ifon, Ilare and Ode
If your facility is anywhere in Ondo State, you’re covered.
Care Comes First; Filing Can Wait for Us
A health facility never really switches off. There are ward rounds and antenatal days, emergencies that arrive just as you’re about to close, drug stock to count and staff rosters that need rearranging when someone calls in sick. Between all that, nobody has the spare hour to learn CAC’s portal, and no patient benefits if you do. We’d rather take the registration off your hands entirely. When it’s done, your facility has a recognised name on patient receipts, supplier invoices and bank documents.
Is This Right for Your Business?
We’re not the right fit for everyone, and we’d rather say so — here’s who usually benefits most from working with us:
- You’d rather not sit with CAC’s portal between ward rounds, antenatal clinics and a late-night emergency that arrives as you’re about to lock up.
- You’re growing from one clinic or maternity home toward a larger hospital, a second branch, a diagnostic unit or a nursing home, perhaps working with health insurance schemes.
- You want a recommendation that fits your size, not the biggest package by default.
- You want a process without back-and-forth: send your details once, pay once, and there are no surprise charges afterwards.
If that sounds like how you like to do business, you’ll probably enjoy working with us.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a hospital or clinic in Ondo State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same wherever in the state your facility is. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
How long does registration take? Usually 5–7 working days once your details and payment are in.
Is a Business Name enough for a clinic or hospital? For owner-run clinics, maternity homes and small facilities, yes. It gives you the registered name to start. Larger hospitals and those with several owners or investors often do better with a company.
Does CAC registration replace registration with the Ministry of Health? No. Private health facilities must also register and validate with the state ministry’s Department of Hospital Services. CAC registration gives your facility the legal name it applies under.
Do I still need MDCN, NMCN or PCN licences? Yes, where they apply to the people and services in your facility. Professional licences are issued by the councils concerned and are entirely separate from CAC registration.
Can I register a hospital name if I’m not a doctor? CAC registers the business name and does not assess professional qualifications. Who may own or lead a health facility is governed by health regulators, so confirm that with the ministry before you proceed.
I run a clinic and a maternity home together. Do I need two registrations? No. One registration covers your business as a whole, and you can describe both services in the nature-of-business field.
Can a nursing home or elderly care facility be registered the same way? Yes. Describe the nature of the business simply, for example “nursing home and elderly care”, and register like any other health facility. Health approvals for your premises are handled separately.
My clinic has a pharmacy or laboratory inside. Does that need its own approval? Often, yes. Pharmacies and laboratories have their own licensing requirements, which are separate from CAC registration. Check what applies to each service you offer.
I rent my building. Can I still register? Yes. You need a business address in Ondo State and its LGA, whether the building is rented or owned.
Can I register before my facility is finished? Yes. You need an address and LGA for the application, so send the location you plan to use.
Do you register businesses outside Akure? Yes. We register health facilities throughout Ondo State, from Owo and the Akoko towns to Okitipupa and the coast, at the same price and turnaround.
What if my proposed business name isn’t available? Send a backup name and we’ll check it straight away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Will the certificate help with health insurance accreditation or corporate contracts? Insurance schemes, HMOs and companies often ask for proof of registration, so the certificate is a useful document to hold. It does not guarantee accreditation or a contract.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, together with your ID and other details.
Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
Do I get a printed certificate? We send a soft copy by WhatsApp, and you can print it at any business centre whenever it suits you.
Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses have annual returns to file. It’s a small, separate step, and we can help when the time comes.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many facilities start with a Business Name and convert as they grow or take on partners. We can assist with the conversion.
When should I start with a Limited Liability Company instead? If you’re building a larger hospital, sharing ownership with partners, or an investor or insurer expects a company structure, it’s worth considering from day one.
Can I register more than one branch under one name? One registration covers your business as a whole. Health licences generally attach to each facility, so confirm the approvals for every branch you run.
I’ve been running my clinic for years without registering the business. Is it too late? No. You can register at any stage and the process is the same. It doesn’t replace any health ministry registration you may still need.
