Opening a hospital, a clinic or a nursing home is a long list of tasks, and getting the business properly named is one of the first. Patients, suppliers, insurers and banks all want to know who they are dealing with, and a registered name answers that. Onelove Business Ventures is an accredited CAC agent. We handle the name search, the filing and the certificate for you, wherever your facility is in Taraba State. A registered business name does not license anyone to practise medicine, and we explain below what else you will need. Begin with a single WhatsApp message containing your business name, and we’ll carry it through.

What the Taraba Health Authorities Look At, and Where CAC Fits
Healthcare is regulated by the state, not by CAC. The Taraba State Ministry of Health lists a Department of Medical Services that regulates private health facilities and oversees hospital quality assurance, and its resources page carries Health Facility Registration Guidelines that set out an accreditation process for private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres. Read those guidelines before you spend on premises or equipment, because they describe what the state expects of a facility.
There is also an insurance dimension. The Taraba State Contributory Health Insurance Agency (TSCHIA) accredits public and private providers, and it has reported enrolling over 112,000 residents across the state’s 168 political wards. Reports on its 2026 enrolment exercise note that beneficiaries receive services through a network of accredited providers. CAC registration does not accredit you, and we have not seen the complete document list that either body requires, so ask the ministry and TSCHIA directly. What registration does give you is the legal business name under which an application is made.

Business Name or Company for a Clinic or Hospital?
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (all-inclusive) | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Business kept separate from owner | No | Yes |
| Documents delivered | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Commonly chosen for | Single-practitioner clinics, small maternity homes and home-care services | Hospitals with several owners, larger facilities, and ventures taking in investors or equipment finance |
A Business Name is often enough for a small clinic run by one practitioner or a modest maternity home. Hospitals with several doctors as co-owners, heavier equipment spending, bank facilities or outside investors tend to be better served by a Limited Liability Company. Keep in mind that a company separates the business from its owners for business debts, but it does not remove a professional’s own responsibility to patients. Speak to a lawyer or insurer about that side of things.
Itemised: What the ₦35,500 Pays For
Everything below is paid for with the single ₦35,500, including CAC’s own charge and our fee. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, all-inclusive.
- A search confirming that your preferred name can be registered
- Reservation of that name
- Preparation and submission of the CAC Business Name application
- CAC’s government filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration (soft copy)
- Your Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report confirming your business is active on the public register
Approvals and Costs Outside CAC Registration
CAC registration gives your business a legal name. Most of what a health facility needs sits outside it:
- Printed copies of your certificate — you receive a soft copy and can print it locally
- Registration or accreditation of the facility with the Taraba State Ministry of Health, which regulates private health facilities
- TSCHIA accreditation, if you want to treat patients enrolled in the state health insurance scheme
- Professional licences for the people who work in the facility, such as doctors and dentists (MDCN), nurses and midwives (NMCN), pharmacists (PCN) and laboratory scientists (MLSCN)
- Approvals for an in-house pharmacy or laboratory, which are handled separately from the main facility
- Authorisation from the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority if you operate X-ray or other radiation equipment
- Building, fire-safety, sanitation and medical-waste arrangements for the premises
- Any extra requirements for residential or nursing-home care, which you should confirm with the Ministry of Health
- Employer obligations such as pension and employee-compensation contributions, plus your tax filings
- Opening a business bank account, done with your bank after your certificate arrives
- Annual returns in later years — a short, separate filing that we can also handle
Information We’ll Ask You For
- Two proposed business names, in order of preference
- A valid ID — National ID (NIN), international passport or driver’s license
- A passport photograph
- Your facility’s address in Taraba State, including the LGA
- A phone number and an email address
- A short description of what the business does — for example “hospital and clinic services” or “maternity and nursing-home care”
- For a Limited Liability Company only: names, IDs and details of the directors and shareholders
Six Steps From Name to Certificate
- We check the name on CAC’s public search portal on your behalf.
- We reserve it as soon as it is confirmed as available.
- We complete and submit the application, using your details and your Taraba address.
- You send photos of your ID and passport photograph, taken on a phone if you like.
- You pay ₦35,500, a single payment covering every item above.
- Your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report reach you, normally within 5–7 working days.
Once your documents are sent and the payment is made, our team finishes the rest and your certificate comes to you.
Registration for Health Facilities in Every LGA of Taraba
The price and the turnaround are the same in every local government area. The table groups the 16 LGAs by senatorial district.
| District | LGAs we cover | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Taraba Central | Jalingo, Ardo Kola, Karim Lamido, Lau, Yorro, Zing | Jalingo is the state capital, where the state ministries are based and where the TSCHIA e-referral system was launched |
| Taraba North | Bali, Gashaka, Gassol, Kurmi, Sardauna | Includes the Mambilla Plateau (Sardauna) and the Gashaka-Gumti National Park area (Gashaka); Bali is home to the Suntai polytechnic |
| Taraba South | Donga, Ibi, Takum, Ussa, Wukari | Takum hosts the state’s College of Health Technology, and Wukari was the venue for the 2026 enrolment flag-off under the state health programme |
If your clinic, hospital or care home is anywhere in Taraba State, we can register it.
Between Ward Rounds and Night Shifts, Registration Can Wait on Us
Your day follows the clock: a waiting room that fills before you’ve finished your first coffee, ward rounds, drug-stock counts, lab results to chase, a handover at the end of every shift. Patients come with worries that cannot be put off, and the paperwork that comes with running a facility never stops. Registration is one piece of that load that someone else can lift completely. When it is done, your facility has a registered name for patient receipts, supplier accounts, insurer correspondence and bank forms.
Who This Service Suits Best
Not every registration service is the right match for every business owner, and that’s fine — here’s who tends to get the most out of working with us:
- You’d rather not be filling in CAC’s portal between consulting-room patients, ward rounds and night-shift handovers — you want the paperwork done while the facility keeps running.
- You’re thinking of growing from a consulting clinic into a maternity or inpatient wing, a diagnostic unit or a second branch — and you want a registered name in place for when you apply for accreditation.
- You want honest advice, not an upsell — if a Business Name covers your stage, that’s what we’ll recommend.
- You want one message to actually mean one message — no chasing documents back and forth, no surprise extra fees once you’ve paid.
If that sounds like you, send your business name and we’ll get started.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a hospital or clinic in Taraba State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, wherever in Taraba your facility is. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I get for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC application, the government filing fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough for a clinic or small hospital? For a single-practitioner clinic or a small maternity home, often yes. Larger hospitals with several owners, heavy equipment costs or investors usually do better with a Limited Liability Company.
Does CAC registration allow me to operate a hospital? No. CAC registration gives your business a legal name. Operating a health facility needs the approvals of the health authorities, starting with the Taraba State Ministry of Health.
Who regulates private health facilities in Taraba? The Taraba State Ministry of Health lists its Department of Medical Services as the regulator of private health facilities, and it publishes Health Facility Registration Guidelines. Check the current guidelines with the ministry.
What is TSCHIA, and do I need its accreditation? TSCHIA is the Taraba State Contributory Health Insurance Agency, which accredits public and private providers for the state insurance scheme. Accreditation is separate from CAC registration, and whether you need it depends on whether you want to serve enrolled patients.
Will a CAC certificate help with ministry or TSCHIA applications? It provides the registered business name that an application is made under. The full list of documents is set by the ministry and TSCHIA, so confirm it with them. Registration does not guarantee approval.
Do doctors, nurses and pharmacists need separate licences? Yes. Practitioners are licensed by their own professional councils, such as MDCN for doctors and dentists, NMCN for nurses and midwives, and PCN for pharmacists. Registering the business does not replace any of them.
I’m a nurse or midwife planning a maternity home. Can I register? Yes, CAC can register the business name. The facility approvals and the rules on who may practise are separate, so check them with the ministry and your professional council.
Are there special requirements for nursing homes? Requirements for residential or nursing-home care are set by the health authorities, and we have not seen a published list for Taraba. Confirm with the Ministry of Health.
Does an in-house pharmacy or laboratory need its own approval? Yes. Pharmacies and laboratories are handled separately, and the ministry lists a department that inspects pharmacies and patent medicine stores.
Do I need authorisation for an X-ray machine? Radiation equipment is regulated by the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority. That is separate from CAC registration.
Can I register a hospital, pharmacy and laboratory under one name? You can describe the business broadly, for example “hospital, pharmacy and laboratory services”. Each of those activities still needs its own approvals.
Does a Limited Liability Company protect me from claims over patient care? A company separates the business from its owners for business debts. It does not remove a professional’s own responsibility to patients, so speak to a lawyer or insurer about how to protect yourself.
Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. A CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, together with your ID and other details.
Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number is part of what you receive for the ₦35,500.
Do I have to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses file annual returns. It is a short, separate step, and we can help when it falls due.
What if my chosen name is already taken? Send a backup name and we will check it straight away. Keeping two or three options ready keeps things moving.
Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many healthcare businesses start with a Business Name and convert as they grow, and we can help with the conversion.
When should I start with a Limited Liability Company instead? If you plan to share ownership with other doctors, take on investors or a bank facility, or build a larger hospital, the company route is worth considering from day one.
Do you register businesses outside Jalingo? Yes. We register hospitals, clinics and nursing homes in all 16 LGAs of Taraba State, from Sardauna and Gashaka to Wukari and Takum, at the same price and with the same turnaround.
