CAC Business Name Registration for Pharmacy in Ondo State

If you run a community pharmacy in Akure, a patent medicine shop in Ore or a small diagnostic laboratory in Owo, a registered business name is the paperwork that everything else leans on: supplier accounts, a bank account, and later your applications to the health regulators. Onelove Business Ventures is a CAC-accredited agent. We run the name search, file the application and collect the certificate for you, wherever in Ondo State your outlet stands. Tell us your business name on WhatsApp; searching, filing and following up are all on our side.

Here’s Exactly What You’re Paying For

Your ₦35,500 is one payment that carries both CAC’s government fee and our service fee, so no second bill arrives afterwards. If you would rather begin as a company, a Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.

Outside the Scope of This Registration

A CAC certificate gives your business a legal name. It does not authorise anyone to sell medicines or run tests. Those permissions come from the regulators below, and you should confirm the current requirements with each of them:

Business Name or Limited Liability Company?

Business NameLimited Liability Company
All-inclusive cost₦35,500₦65,500
Personal liability protectionNoYes
Documents receivedCertificate + Status Report + TINCertificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN
Best forOwner-run pharmacies, medicine shops and small laboratoriesWholesalers, multi-branch chains and diagnostic centres with partners or investors

For a single counter or a single lab run by its owner, a Business Name gives you the registered identity you need to start trading and to open a bank account. A Limited Liability Company earns its higher price once several people hold shares, once you are stocking at wholesale scale, or once you want the business’s debts kept separate from your personal assets. Health regulators can have their own rules about who may own or run a pharmacy or laboratory and in what structure, so ask the relevant body before you choose. You can start with a Business Name and convert later if you outgrow it.

  6. Delivery — your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report, usually within 5–7 working days.

Your involvement ends at payment; the filing, tracking and delivery happen without you.

Why Ondo’s Medicine Sellers Are Under the Microscope

Selling medicines in Ondo State already means working in a regulated, watched space. BusinessDay reported that the Ondo State Ministry of Health’s Taskforce on Fake and Counterfeit Drugs sealed 16 patent medicine stores and one pharmacy in Akure during the administration of then-governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. The reasons given included missing operating licences, the sale of controlled drugs, a lack of qualified personnel and unhygienic premises. The ministry’s permanent secretary said surveillance had found many shops unregistered and some without a superintendent pharmacist, and that the state had equipped the taskforce with a Truscan device to help check the quality of drugs on sale. In a separate report, seven medicine stores in the capital were sealed for allegedly stocking controlled and expired drugs, and the ministry said the enforcement was meant to reach all 18 local government areas of the state.

For a new pharmacy or laboratory owner, the lesson is plain. Buyers, suppliers and inspectors all look first for proof that an outlet is who it says it is, and a CAC certificate, TIN and status report give you that starting point. But CAC registration is not a PCN or ministry licence, and it will not stand in for a superintendent pharmacist or a laboratory registration. Treat it as step one of a short list, not the whole list.

Pharmacies and Labs We Register Across Ondo State

The price, paperwork and turnaround stay the same wherever your outlet is. Your list mixes local government areas with individual towns and communities, so we have grouped them by how outlets tend to cluster.

The capital and its neighbours

Ondo city and the road towards Lagos — busy roadside and market-town outlets

Owo, Ose and the Akoko towns — pharmacies and labs serving the northern towns and their surrounding communities

The southern coast and waterways

Other towns and communities on your list

Wherever in Ondo State you plan to open, send us the name and we will start the search.

Counting Stock, Reading Results, Keeping the Doors Open

You know a counter where nothing is out of date is a counter customers trust. You live by expiry dates, the fridge that must stay cold, the supplier’s representative waiting by the till, and the patient who needs help at a quarter to closing. In the lab, mornings go to sample collection and afternoons to results that have to be right. Registering the business name is one task on that list that can leave your desk altogether. Once done, your outlet trades under a name that appears on supplier invoices, bank paperwork and the forms you will fill in later for the regulators.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does CAC registration cost for a pharmacy or laboratory in Ondo State? ₦35,500, all-inclusive, for a Business Name, the same wherever in the state you operate. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.

What do I receive for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a Tax Identification Number and a CAC Status Report.

Is a Business Name enough for a pharmacy or a small lab? For an owner-run outlet, a Business Name usually gives you the registered name you need to begin. Larger operations, partnerships and wholesale businesses may suit a Limited Liability Company, and a Business Name can be converted later. Ask the PCN or MLSCN about any ownership rules before you decide.

Does CAC registration replace a PCN premises licence or MLSCN registration? No. CAC registration gives your business a legal name. Pharmacy premises, superintendent pharmacists, medicine shop licences and laboratory registration are issued by separate bodies.

Can I register a patent medicine shop? Yes, a medicine shop can be registered under a business name. The Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors Licence and any state health approvals are separate steps.

I haven’t found my premises yet. Can I still register? The application needs a business address in Ondo State and its LGA. If you are still arranging a shop, send the address you intend to use.

Can a pharmacy and a laboratory share one business name? Yes, you can describe the business broadly in the application. The pharmacy side and the laboratory side will each need their own regulatory approvals.

Do you handle registrations outside Akure? Yes. We register pharmacy and laboratory businesses across Ondo State, from Owo and the Akoko towns to Ilaje and Okitipupa, at the same price and turnaround.

Will the certificate help with suppliers, clinics or wholesalers? Suppliers and institutions often ask for proof of registration before opening an account or accepting you as a vendor, so the certificate is a useful document to hold. It does not guarantee credit terms or contracts.

Can I open a bank account, and do I have filings after registration? Yes to the account: a CAC certificate is one of the main documents banks ask for, together with your ID. Registered businesses also file annual returns with CAC, a small, separate step we can help with.

What if my first-choice name isn’t available? Send a backup and we will check it right away. Having two or three options ready keeps things moving.
