A pharmacy, patent medicine shop or medical laboratory in Zamfara State is a business people trust with their health, and that trust starts with a name they can verify. Registering with CAC gives your outlet or lab a legal identity of its own, separate from the professional licences you will also need. Onelove Business Ventures is a CAC-accredited agent. We take care of the name search, the application and the certificate for owners anywhere in the state, whether your premises are in Gusau or in a smaller LGA headquarters. Hand us your business name over WhatsApp; the registration itself becomes our workload, not yours.

Zamfara’s 2026 Push Against Illegal Medicine Sales
In February 2026, the Zamfara State Government launched a multi-agency effort to curb the illegal and indiscriminate sale of medicines. Announced by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, at a review meeting that brought together security agencies, regulators and professional bodies, the plan aims to produce an enforcement roadmap. The commissioner warned that unregulated hawking of medicines in streets, markets and motor parks feeds fake drugs, treatment failure and avoidable deaths. Press reports say the State Security Council asked the Ministry of Health to coordinate the agencies, that the state’s Department of Pharmaceutical Services holds statutory oversight of pharmaceutical outlets and patent medicine vendors, and that the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and NAFDAC’s state office both pledged support for inspections and enforcement. A separate stakeholders’ meeting in Gusau also drew pharmacist and patent-medicine-dealer associations, the police and the civil defence corps.
For an honest owner, the message is that a legitimate outlet is expected to be traceable and properly licensed. CAC registration is one piece of that: it gives you a registered name, a TIN and a status report, but it is not a pharmacy licence, a PPMV licence or a laboratory approval, and it does not authorise you to stock or sell anything. How enforcement has developed since the announcement is something we could not confirm, so check current expectations with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria’s state office and the state’s pharmaceutical services department before you open or expand.

Here’s Exactly What You’re Paying For
Your ₦35,500 is a single payment that carries a Zamfara pharmacy or laboratory business from the name search to the certificate. The CAC government fee and our own fee are both inside that figure, so there’s no second invoice to expect. If you would prefer to start as a company, a Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, all-inclusive.
- Checking that your business name is available
- Reserving the name once it is confirmed
- Preparing and submitting the CAC Business Name application
- The CAC government filing and processing fee
- Your Certificate of Registration (soft copy)
- A Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- A CAC Status Report showing your business is active on the public register
Business Name vs. Limited Liability Company
| Business Name | Limited Liability Company | |
|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive cost | ₦35,500 | ₦65,500 |
| Personal liability protection | No | Yes |
| Documents received | Certificate + Status Report + TIN | Certificate + Status Report + Memart + TIN |
| Best for | Single-owner pharmacies, medicine shops and small laboratories | Larger pharmacies, wholesalers, diagnostic centres, or owners with partners or investors |
A Business Name usually works for an owner running one outlet or a small lab who needs a registered name for supplier accounts, receipts and a bank account. A Limited Liability Company becomes worth considering once you have co-owners, outside investors, a wholesale operation or several branches, because the business then stands apart from your personal assets. Pharmacy premises are also registered with the Pharmacy Council, so ask the council which ownership structure it will accept for your type of outlet before you decide. Many owners begin with a Business Name and move up later.

Counters, Samples and Expiry Dates Keep You Busy Enough
Health businesses run on small checks that cannot be skipped: reading a prescription properly, noting an expiry date, keeping reagents at the right temperature, labelling a specimen correctly and finding a supplier who delivers on time. Add queues at the counter, a wholesaler’s invoice to reconcile and the occasional inspector’s visit, and the day is already full. Filing with CAC is one task on that list we can take off you altogether. When it is done, your outlet or laboratory trades under a registered name that appears on supplier accounts, invoices and bank paperwork.
You’ll Probably Like Working With Us If…
Not every registration service is the right match for every business owner, and that’s fine — here’s who tends to get the most out of working with us:
- You’d rather not battle CAC’s portal between prescriptions, stock checks and samples waiting for results — you want the registration finished while the counter or the bench keeps moving.
- You’re planning beyond a single outlet — perhaps a pharmacy that adds a wholesale arm, a collection point that grows into a full diagnostic laboratory, or a second shop in another town.
- You value a straight answer over a sales pitch — if a Business Name is enough for where you are, we’ll tell you that, not upsell you into the LLC.
- You want a process without back-and-forth — send your details once, pay once, and there are no surprise charges afterwards.
If that’s the kind of service you want, message us and we’ll begin.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does CAC registration cost for a pharmacy or laboratory in Zamfara State? ₦35,500 all-inclusive for a Business Name, the same in every LGA. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500 all-inclusive.
What do I receive for the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the completed CAC filing, the government fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.
Is a Business Name enough to open a pharmacy or medicine shop? It gives you a registered business name, which is a sensible first step. It is not permission to sell medicines. Pharmacy and patent medicine licensing come from the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and the state’s pharmaceutical services authorities.
Does CAC registration replace my Pharmacy Council of Nigeria licence? No. PCN registers pharmacy premises and licenses pharmacists and patent medicine vendors separately. CAC registration gives you the registered name you apply under.
Do I need MLSCN registration to run a laboratory? Medical laboratories are regulated by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, which is separate from CAC. Check its current requirements for your type of laboratory.
Does registering with CAC mean I can sell any medicine? No. You may only stock and sell products and categories your licence allows, and products must be NAFDAC-registered. Registration does not change any of that.
Can a pharmacy and a laboratory trade under one business name? Yes, if you describe the nature of business broadly. Each premises and activity may still need its own approvals.
Do you register businesses outside Gusau? Yes. We register businesses in all 14 LGAs of Zamfara State, from Zurmi to Talata Mafara, at the same price and turnaround.
Can I register before I have premises? You need a business address in Zamfara State and its LGA for the application. If you are still arranging premises, send the address you plan to use.
Will a CAC certificate help me deal with wholesalers, hospitals or insurers? Suppliers, clinics and insurance schemes often ask for proof of registration before opening accounts or considering a partnership, so the certificate is a useful document to hold. It cannot guarantee any account, contract or accreditation.
Which structure suits a pharmacy, a Business Name or a company? A Business Name often suits a single-owner outlet. A Limited Liability Company is worth considering with partners, investors or several branches. Because PCN registers pharmacy premises, ask the council about its ownership requirements first.
What happens after registration? Your TIN is included and you can open a business bank account with your chosen bank. Registered businesses also file annual returns, a small separate step we can help with. If the business grows, a Business Name can be converted to a Limited Liability Company, and we can assist with that.
