Here’s Exactly What You’re Paying For

Everything below sits inside one all-inclusive payment of ₦35,500 — CAC’s fee and ours together, with no add-ons later. Starting as a company instead costs ₦65,500, also all-inclusive.

Outside the Scope of This Registration

A CAC certificate gives the business a legal name. It is not a factory permit or a product approval. Depending on what you make or sell, these are handled separately:

Business Name vs. Limited Liability Company

Usually suitsSingle-owner shops, small moulding or bag-making units, scrap buyersBigger production lines, partnerships, or owners who borrow or take investors

For one owner running a modest unit or shop, a Business Name usually does the job: it gives you a name for invoices, supplier accounts and a bank account. A Limited Liability Company becomes worth considering when you buy machinery on credit, bring in partners, or want the business to stand apart from your personal assets. Many owners start with a Business Name and convert later.

Before You Reach Out

  1. Two proposed business names, in order of preference
  2. A valid means of ID — National ID (NIN), international passport, or driver’s license
  3. A passport photograph
  4. Your business address in Zamfara State — including the LGA
  5. Phone number and email address
  6. Nature of business — described simply, for example “manufacture and sale of plastic and polythene products” or “plastic scrap collection and recycling”
  7. If you choose Limited Liability Company instead: names, ID and details of directors and shareholders

From Message to Certificate

  1. We check the name on CAC’s public search portal, so you don’t have to.
  2. We reserve it as soon as it is confirmed available.
  3. We complete the application using your business, owner and Zamfara address details.
  4. You upload your ID and passport photograph — a clear phone photo works.
  5. You pay ₦35,500, a single payment covering everything listed above.
  6. Your Certificate of Registration, TIN and Status Report arrive, typically within 5–7 working days.

Once your details are sent and the payment is made, your part is finished — the certificate comes back to you.

Plastic Waste, ZEPEA and What They Mean for Your Registration

Plastic in Zamfara is a trade and an environmental subject at the same time, and a registered business is better placed to deal with both. A 2019 peer-reviewed study of polyethylene disposal in Gusau, published in the Journal of Evolutionary Science, found table-water sachets to be the most frequently reported polyethylene waste among its respondents. It recommended recycling schemes, public waste bins and stronger environmental enforcement. On the state side, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and the Zamfara State Environmental Protection and Enforcement Agency (ZEPEA) were reported in 2025 to be clearing drains in Gusau ahead of the rains. Nationally, a ban on single-use plastics was announced to begin in federal offices from 1 July 2025, with manufacturers’ groups warning that it needed a recycling plan alongside it. How far that policy reaches today is worth checking before you plan a product line around it.

For you, that points two ways. Makers of sachet film, carrier bags and similar items should expect more attention to how their products are used and disposed of. Collectors and recyclers sit on the other side of the same problem, with used plastic as raw material. In both cases the CAC certificate does not license a factory or a recycling yard, so confirm what the state ministry and ZEPEA expect for your premises before you commit to equipment.

Your Machines and Stock Keep You Busy; the Paperwork Needn’t

A plastics business runs on small margins and moving parts. Resin and scrap prices shift from week to week, a machine needs steady power, moulds change between runs, and a buyer wants ten bundles by afternoon. You already know your product and your customers. The registration is one task you can hand over completely. When it’s done, the business carries a recognised name that you can put on invoices, supplier accounts and bank forms.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does CAC registration cost for a plastic business in Zamfara State? ₦35,500, all-inclusive, for a Business Name. A Limited Liability Company is ₦65,500, also all-inclusive. The price is the same in every LGA.

What is included in the ₦35,500? The name search and reservation, the filled-in and submitted CAC application, CAC’s filing fee, your Certificate of Registration (soft copy), a TIN and a CAC Status Report.

Are there any charges beyond the price quoted? No. CAC’s fee and our service fee are both inside the ₦35,500, and nothing is added after you pay.

Is a Business Name enough for a polythene or plastic production business? For most single-owner shops and modest production units, yes. It gives you the registered name to trade under. Permits for production sites are a separate matter.

Does a CAC certificate allow me to run a factory? No. It registers the business name. Any approvals for your premises, equipment or products come from other bodies and are arranged separately.

Do I need SON approval for the plastic products I make? It depends on the product, and it is a separate process from CAC. Check with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria whether a standard or certification applies to what you produce.

Does NAFDAC come into it if I make sachet film or food containers? It can, where your plastic is used to pack food, water or medicines. Your customers may ask what the material needs to meet, so confirm current expectations with NAFDAC.

Will registration help with ZEPEA or the state environment ministry? A registered name is a sensible starting point when dealing with them, but it does not replace any environmental approval for your premises. Ask the ministry what applies to your site.

Does the single-use plastics policy change how I register? No, registration works the same way. The policy concerns products and their use, so check its current scope for any item you make or sell.

Can I register a plastic recycling or scrap-collection business? Yes. Describe the nature of business as collection, sorting and recycling of plastic, and we file it like any other registration.

Can I register a shop that sells plastic goods and also makes some of them? Yes. Describe the business broadly, for example “manufacture and sale of plastic products”, so the registration covers both sides.

Can one registration cover several product lines? Yes. A broad description can cover bags, containers, furniture and pipes under one name. Product-specific approvals are still handled separately.

I trade from a market stall and don’t have a shop yet. Can I still register? You need an address in Zamfara State and its LGA for the application. If you’re arranging premises, send the address you plan to use.

Do I need to come to an office? No. The process runs through WhatsApp: you send your details, ID and passport photo, make payment, and receive the documents there.

Do you register businesses outside Gusau? Yes. We cover all 14 LGAs, from Anka and Bakura to Zurmi and Shinkafi, at the same price and turnaround.

How long does it take? Usually 5–7 working days from submission.

How will I receive my certificate? As a soft copy on WhatsApp. You can print it locally whenever you need a hard copy.

Is the TIN included? Yes. A Tax Identification Number comes with the ₦35,500.

Can partners register one Business Name together? Yes. Send each partner’s details. Remember that a Business Name does not separate your personal assets from the business.

What happens if my preferred business name is taken? That’s why we ask for two names. If both fail, send another and we’ll check it right away.

Will bulk buyers or suppliers ask for the certificate? Some do, especially when dealing with companies and institutions, so it is a useful document to hold. It does not guarantee any order.

Can I open a business bank account with the certificate? Yes. The certificate is one of the main documents banks request, along with your ID and other details.

When should a plastic maker consider a Limited Liability Company? When you are buying machinery on credit, adding partners, taking outside investment, or want the business kept apart from your personal assets.

Can I upgrade from a Business Name to a Limited Liability Company later? Yes. Many owners start with a Business Name and convert as the business grows, and we can help with the conversion.

Do I need to file anything with CAC in later years? Registered businesses have annual returns to file. It is a small, separate step that we can handle for you.

Will CAC registration change my tax position? The registration comes with a TIN. Your actual tax obligations as a manufacturer, trader or recycler are separate, so check what applies to your activities.
